Default '05 GT Stock Dyno-RICH

I ran the Dyno with only 1500 miles because I'm putting on Steeda parts, with a Diablo Predator tune and I want to see the gains.

Stock '05 GT w/ 1500 miles (put on some more miles & these numbers should go up)

RWHP= 267.9
RWTQ= 287.6

My Air/fuel is way off though. Its running sooooooo rich. Not sure if Ford sets it rich from the factory to be extra safe, but the graph for Air/Fuel plummets like a cliff at 2500-3500 rpm, then from 3500 RPM up I'm off the Dyno chart. The graph only goes down to 10 and I'm runnning 10 all the way to redline.....RICH.

Anyone have Dyno experience???? Whats the Air/Fuel measured in? I drop from 14.5 to 10

I'm, told by Bristol Dyno that just getting the air/fuel corrected will add 20-30 HP. I'll be back next week with a Steeda Cold Air intake, and Diablo predator tune running 93 octane...we'll see........

I'll try to scan or photo the Dyno sheets and post them too...

I have read articles that state the car is lean,they said that if you remove the stock air filter and the round liitle filter that is in the air tube the car will go lean. I have seen that the 05 with a highflow air filter and the other round little filter removed and steeda underdrive pulleys and a tune make close to 300 horsepower to the wheels. Aftermarket exhaust doesnt help this car as far as horsepower other than sounding better.

Default Milage and Dyno Test

You mention you got/are gettin a Dyno test done with only 1500 miles? I just got my 2005 GT Convertible (Screaming Yellow, 5 spd) and was invited with by a fellow local poster of this board to take me car.

I only have 400 miles on it so far. What's a good milage to run the Dyno and why? Does it improve with milage? break in period? etc.

I am sorry. I never did any mods to my previous Mustangs. I just want to see if I hit that 300 hp

1. People will have various opinions on break in. Many say, including the '05 manual that there really is no break in time required. Many others still want to take it easy for the first 1000 to be sure everything breaks in correctly.I personally wouldn't put it on until AT LEAST after the milage recommended to vary speed/rpm.
2. HP will increase as you put on miles, If it wasn't getting Steeda parts I would have waited longer. But I'm glad I did because my A/F seemed so rich.
3. This car is listed as 300HP but thats at the motor. The dyno results are HP at the rear wheels. I dont know for sure but the '05 may be a 'lil underated in HP, people putting close to 300 down at the rear wheels
4. CONGRATS on the sweet ride!
