Default timing adjuster/pulleys

hey everyone, i currently have some underdrive pulleys on my car and they are the piggyback style i believe....the ones where the crank pulley slips over the harmonic balancer. whats the difference between that and the other type? any huge hp gains? also if i were to get a timing adjuster, would it work with the pulleys right now or no? thanks

Im pretty sure you CANT use the steeda timing adjuster with the piggyback syle pulleys, so if you want one, maybe you should try and sell the ones you have and get the steeda's. Most people try to stay away from the piggyback pulleys anyhow.

cant i just get a different crank pulley? i dont feel like dealing with the whole selling and buying stuff again. if i can just get a different crank pulley that replaces it then i will do that. the other pulleys should be the same though....any ideas?????

I dont think it would be wise to mix and match pulleys from different sets though. In my opinion, wait, be patient, and get the right parts, then you wont have to worry about something going wrong. Just my 2 cents.

the install went ok. we honestly didnt have any of the tools that were required but we still got it done. it took a while though. i wasnt with him when he tested out the car after the install but he said he could feel a huge difference. the only problem now is that his check engine light is on.
