Default Make My Car Loud As Fck!!! Please??

i have non pi 97 gt

i was told the 40 series original flowmasters were loud..well i have a custom catback with flowmaster 40's and it really isnt load at all .... i mean its a little louder than stock but really kinda whimpy sounding....i want it to be loud and obnoctious how do i do this?

Mac O/R H pipe with LM 1 catback. Still my favorite sounding exhaust.

long tube headers

off road mid pipe (x or h no cats)

and any muff will do.. slp will be the loudest... (but the flowmaster 40s will be A HELL OF ALOT LOUDER)

my suggestion...

buy the longtube headers... and offroad mid pipe... (longtubes are a bitch to instal but is a do it your self) and see if thats loud enough...

if not move on to slp and cams... cams are expensive but add great power...


Or

just cut the exhaust after the O2 sensors and smell the sweat exhaust fumes!

I love my exhaust! Its mean but docile at idle. Give it some gas, and I swear you can feel it through the ground. At WOT it sounds like a jet.People always tell me it sounds like a beast. Or they say it sounds like its really fast. The SLP Loudmouth setup is WAY louder though. Its very obnoxious and I really dont like it. You can hear someone from miles away. Just think of pulling up to a nice resteraunt what people would say....

I have the UPR offroad x pipe. It fits great, sounds great, and makes more power. I have the Flowmaster 2 chamber 40s with the 2.5 inch pipes.

i have a whimpy mustang though the only clips i have herd are of 99-04 mustangs i have a 97!!!!! much less hp!! does anyone know of a clip witha 96-98 mustang?

would slp x and flows make it sound nasty or would i need to ditch the flows and go slp x and slp catback lm1?

and O/R x will help alot...

but like i said...

being that you already have flows (which i think sound much better then slp... most on these boards will disagree tho) DO NOT BUY A NEW CAT BACK!

why waste the money... buy and O/R pipe... that will really wake your car up... and If headers fit into your budget then even better...

I have a 94 with a 302 and ran mack equal length headers, mac off road H, and borla chambered catback... sounded better then my neighbor's 68 dodge dart

some facts

chambered mufflers = deeper more old school muscle sound
straight through (slp) = raspier louder sound

x pipe = raspier almost euro sound
h pipe = deep throaty sound

long tube header = best fpr performance and very loud
short tubes = decent performance although loud... not quite as loud as LTs

Do you have the 2 chamber 40s or the 3 chamber? All the 2 chambers I have heard are pretty loud. I think you just need a good offroad x pipe for the sound your looking for. When I had stock midpipe with the flows, it wasnt all that much louder than stock, but now its WAY louder.:banana:

how about if i added the accufab tb and plenum comb along with the slp o/r x would the accufab add to the loudness??

...i went from O/R H+Flows to O/R H+SLP LMI...i was pleased at first with my FLows and i just got bored, and after seeing Ghost RIders vids i was sold on SLP, now i catch myself with the windows down and stereo off...here are some vids...dont mind the background noise in the first one..the neighbors..and second the camera is shaking, i couldnt stop shaking on how loud the car is.(my bro is reving it for me)...hope this helps...

Once you get an offroad H pipe, no cats, with your setup now, it will be ALOT louder. I have a 97, i know.

It'll add some HP not loudness. Also I would get a C&L plenum with Accufab TB, unless you don't mind using a dremel to smooth out the accufab plenum.

my vote is definitely for the flows+O/R H, the SLP sounds to crackly for my taste and not a muscle car sound.

^the vid distorts it alot,all you hear is the cracks and pops....in person it is very deep, deeper than the FLows..

are you stoopid or determined to go to jail? California has the most draconian noise and smog laws in the country and you want a 1000 dollar emissions ticket. To boot, Monrovia is another of the greater LA area ****-cop towns and you want to attract attention to yourself with a 100% illegal exhaust. Dude... sell your mustang. I don't want it to get crushed by MPD or LACSD.

Ahhh yes california has stricked smog rules....are you from cali?? first of all the cops dont give a flying **** about muscel cars because you have 2 remember this...california is infested with asians and mexicans hmmmm ****ty anoying ricers everywhere ...if your not from LA then you just dont understand where i am coming from! period....for example my high school was 83% asian therefore the cops are all white and love it when theres an awsome american car for a change...and i have gotten out of 2 speeding tickets and i got out of trouble when i was pulled over for streetracing when i turned 16 with a friend in the car...so no the cops arnt **** IMO because i have just moved to Barrington hills in chicago and i see so MANY cops over here it is just out ragious and the difference in traffic is amazing there is so little traffic in chicago! so far im lovin it!

Not sure what the demograhics of your high school has to do with exhaust, but ok. Dude, don't be that guy that has an annoying loud azz car that pisses every neighbor off everytime you drive by. Get SLP LM II's a catted SLP x pipe and it will be plenty loud... And by the way, just cause your car is loud doesn't mean it's fast!

I have the UPR o/r x and 2 chamber 40 series flows and it's plenty loud enough. So i would just add a mid pipe and see what you think.

i switched from o/r h to o/r x on my 99 gt with 2 chamber delta 40's. the x is a bit quieter but has a cool sound to it. to make it louder i put on the 2 chamber super 40's. they sounded awesome and made it louder. almost as loud as the h pipe. then i put jba shorties on for the final touch (man that was not fun. it took us all day and half the night even with MM k.) now it sounds perfect! just loud enough to **** some people off when i get on it, but very docile when just idling.

And to answer your ?. Take it one step at a time. Go for an SLP x-pipe and if it isnt loud enough you can get the SLP LTs w/o buying a new mid-pipe.
