a stall convertor is your best bang for the buck. A good convertor that is still streetable will net you a half a second or more lower e.t.

Dont get a shift kit. Do the j mod, get a new valve body, or get a chip. You already have the SCT chip so that will take care of your shifts. Your next mod also depends on what your goal with the car is.

I agree the shift kit is a waste of money and will net you nothing. Stock the 4r70w trans shifts firm enough to get 2nd gear rubber on a stock GT,much better than the stock aod.Besides with the tuner you can adjust your shift points and shift firmness already. The trans could use a little help getting the car launched form a dead start and thats where a better torque convertor comes into play.

I would still do a shift kit. helped my trucks trany last almost 90k miles with spray. and over 150 drag strip passes.

also a tranny cooler is a must if you want it to live long.

converter and a trans go shift kit. the chips and programers only increase line presure you need a good shift kit to keep that tranny alive.

If i do get a converter i still want it to be a daily drive/track car so what type of converter and what stall??? and would spraying it be ok even if i have 4.10's??? And is the shift kit really a must have..??? B4 i had the mods i ran a 14.33 with just a catback and lowering springs the rest was stock.

I just put in my PI 3500 stall multi disk converter. Its a daily driver. Id say dont get anything less then a 3200 stall. Spraying will be fine, Im planning on a 100 shot, clink the link in the sig for more info. I highly recommend a multi disk converter, and if your going with a power adder then you have to go with the multi disk. Im pretty sure that PI wont even warranty a single disk converter if you go WOT with it. Dont get a shift kit, itll give you problems and mess up your tranny. When you get a tune the tuner will take care of your shifting.

if you up the lineprssure like they do in the "tunes" its will wear out your front pump way faster a transgo on setting one or 2 is your best bet, unless you like the j-mod which is good also. but a tranny cooler is a must.

He already has a tranny cooler and Im pretty sure the SCT stuff only increases pressure when you go WOT. Ive seen MANY people say to stay away from shift kits, ESPECIALLY the trans-go kit.

it firms it up at all thorttle positions. thats no good stay away form things liek this. and a proerly installed transgo makes the tranny last longer. many people screw it up though and giver them a bad name.

Shift kits work well with transmissions that shift mushy from the factory, some transmissions shift firm and hard without one, especially late model sports cars with auto's. A shift kit may benefit some transmissions by providing a quicker shift with less slippage between shifts, but some transmissions shift fast and firm already and will gain nothing by adding a shift kit. Saying a transmission will last longer could be true or false, but it is a good way to sell them for the retailers. The best way to prolong trans life is with a cooler and more frequent fluid changes than the manufactor recommends if you plan on hard useage. If I owned a C4 or a C6 or a AOD I would install a kit,My 4r70w shifts firm and hard in all gears (2nd gear rubber, without aid from tuner or kit) and I wouldn't waste my time or money with a kit for that.
