Default Rear Seat Delete?

A lot of you guys do this but what is the point? So it takes some weight out for racing but I can't imagine racing enough to just leave it out?

some people say they feel a big difference with the seat out. but it's bs. i cant imagine it saving that much weight. i've pulled my seats a couple times. maybe if thats all you ever do is race the car but for a daily driver it's just not worth it imho..

Ive heard that its almost 70 lbs, so I guess if you want to lose the weight, and clean it up back there, go for it. Id do it just to keep people from riding in the back seat...

it's nowhere near 70 lbs. its more like 40 pounds. not enough to feel on the sotp meter. the cushions are maybe 10lbs at most plus all the brackets.. definitely nowhere near 70 lbs.. and thats on a coupe. on a vert there are no brackets to take out. only the cushions so verts are saving maybe 10-15 lbs. and it costs $120+ for a rsd. there's a lot of other stuff you could do for the money.

if i were to do one i would make it myself too, but honestly the weight decrease isnt even worth my effort imo. maybe... if i had a coupe but i seriously doubt it. 40 lbs? i'd rather have the seat... it barely ever gets used because i have the tonneau cover over it most of the time but it still looks better than a carpet rsd

if you take out the seats, seatbelts and all the padding its drops 60-70 lbs off...talk to someone who has done this and weighed all the crap they took out and this is what you will hear.

i have done this... i took out my back seats, back seat belts front seat belts everything that i didnt need basically. at most you will get around 40 lbs. seat belts are like 6-8 lbs. plus you gotta add back in the weight of the rear seat delete itself.

its not 70 pounds buts its a good amount with teh bottom back and bracket out. more like 40 once you put a RSD in there. But that and the spare tire makes it will over 100 pounds which is sweet.
