Any artists out there?
Hey folks.
Im a pretty good artist, havent done much in the past several years but ive been thinking of learning to do airbrush. I'd like to get good enough to have a side business doing custom paint jobs on cars.
So im figuring the best thing to do is get an airbrush and start messing around and learning how to do it.
Anybody have any reccommendations for a good airbrush setup? I found one at hobby lobby for $350.00 that includes the compressor and airbrush, along with all the other stuff you need. Anyone have any rec's on an airbrush setup? Or know how much i should expect to pay? think 350.00 would get me a decent setup?
What i wanna do is learn how to do fire, then get good enough that i can do a blue firejob on my ride and have a skeletal/fire horse running through the flames on the quarter panels.
I think that'd be sick.
Also think im gonna use some that GI bill and take some airbrush classes at the local college.

Michelangelo dissected corpses to learn more about human movement of muscles to create more lifelike drawings.
A lot of artists have weird ways about going for ideas. Slappy just likes to be stoned off his gord. haha

SO yeah, blue fire, like the car is blasting through a blue fireball, with a spectral skeletal horse running through it, head on the front fenders, neck going over the wheel well, then the front chest, ribs, all surrounded by fire tapering out around the front of the door to just fire and trailing off.
I think that would be sick! <grin>
Plus, it would be cool to get good enough to pull a side income with that. Im sure it would be at least a year or so of doing GOOD work before i would have the nerve to take it to my own car, but hey, im only 29. I have time. <grin>
not to mention when i get off work i could head home and practice with that stuff instead of going to the bar and getting loaded. <laugh> gotta save my liver!
