Default help me!! insurance question!!

this is some serious crap. my vinyl carport gouged and scratched the hell out of the rear end of my car...terrible!! apparently some high winds during a recent snowstorm lifted the port and the steel pipes (frame) rubbed and scratched my car. i have some serious damage here. i have comprehensive and a deductible with geico. does anyone know if they'll cover this damage?

help me out if u can...this is looking like 2 grand in repairs if insurance doesnt cover it.

thanks, steve

report it to geiko (the worlds worst insurance company) and they will fix it (half assed because they are the worlds worst insurance company)

Remember them good deals they gave you on insurance premiums? Well theres a reason, you get crap *** work done to your car when the time comes around to get it fixed

not entirely true. no matter what insurance youve got, you can still pick where the work is done.

You can pick all the placed in the world. When it comes down to ordering parts, geiko has the word and its going to be new aftermarket if you are lucky, or used aftermarket which is what youll problably get. I see this everyday working at a dealership. progressive is the same way.

You can seperately go to get an independant quote... and then give it to the insurance guy when he checks out your car (to see if they missed anything).... but the two quotes I was given was for $2,000.. and it matched my insurance company's quote exactly and... how ironic that we both got ours quoted at the same auto-body place.....

Just as long as its cosmetic, thats okay... when it's mechanical, then it gets ****ty. My Mitsu went in under a $2,100 quote for cosmetic, then they took off the bumper and found an additional $2,500...

insurance adjuster will come out and do an estimate. you take this to the body shop of your choice. you will have to pay your deductible. depending on the year of your car they will most likely use aftermarket. EVERY insurance company does it, not just Geico. i see it everyday. sometimes, you can argue with the adjuster though. and this is assuming you need new parts. either way, you can go to whatever body shop you want and if the body shop needs more money, they deal with the insurance company. all you will pay is your deductible (unless you work out a deal with the shop, we do it).

Check with your homeowners insurance first. The deductable may be less and it may not reflect as a claim against your Auto. Regardless of what they tell you, a claim is a claim... regardless of what or who was at fault. Insurance blows goats.. but we gotta have it.
