the other night, i was driving w/ 2 girls in my car and one was like "omg!! it's so loud! it sounds like a jet or somethin!!" i was like "heh, its supposed to sound like that" and she's like "really?? thats crazy!"

I also got an older guy at a gas station was like "hey man, nice car, is that the new 05?" I just chuckled and shook my head no

 

My favorite is still the guy that asked me how i got a "Denali" package on my '04 when he read that it was only going to be offered on teh new '05+ body style... :loser:

 

i had a good one the other day. a 40+ year old guy asked me how i liked my car and i aid i love it of course, and he replied by saying thats an 05 right? no its an 02.

i didnt really think that people could mistake 99-04 for an 05

 

NO crap the stock gt's in my opinion are ugly...tooltimes rock's though.

I get this alot "Why is your car an auto?, manuals are alot faster", and then this from people at school "you lost to that guys z28 camaro, your car is slow..mustangs are alot faster then camaro's"..they do not know this guy has full exhaust lt headers 4.10's dyno tuned intake and wowzers it's a ls1. I also get asked "why don't you get a cobra" I tell them because of the insurance be so much higher for my age and the price of the car.

 

the day after i put my exhaust on i showed someone who loved my car...then the people that walked said it was a slow POS....i was like yea....speaking of which....wats in ur carolla...haha

 

stock for stock, the manual is going to rock an automatic.

I was racing a guy at the track a while back. he had the BFG drag radials, 410s, bbk intake, bbk tb/plenum/ SLP catback, diablo tune, back and passanger seat out, and fiddling with his shift points all day to get it running right. its an 03...
he runs a best of 13.8

ive got 3.90s, full interior, street tires and street PSI, SCT XCAL2, accufab tb/plenum, weld in mufflers (whippty-doo) and drop in filter
consistant 13.5 - 13.6 for me.

manuals launch a whole lot harder as well. if he would of worked that auto trans up hed be eatin me.

 

manual just transfers the power to the wheels better. and with 5 gears, its a little more free to spin the gears. So with identical modded stangs, the stick(with a good driver) will always beat an auto

 

well, autos are more consistant than manuals, which is good for bracket racing. but with autos you lose more horsepower through the drive terrain. my 03 is a manual and the 5.0 will be an auto lol

 

nope i hate autos.. but my 5.0 will be mostly in bracket racing and its just way more consistant. with manual its just so much fun. i'll admit my 95 v6 was a manual and that was my first car.. and i freaking HATED the manual, so badly. but after blowing a clutch up and learning how fun it could be, i loved it

 

LOL Just remembered a very good story of mine involving a young, import driving kid.

I am(was) a boy scout, im sure everyone knows that by now and one day, I was walking into the meeting, when some new kid that I had never seen before comes up to me and goes "You drive a mustang?" I say, why, yes, I do and he goes, "wanna race? Ill beat you." I was so shocked, all I could ask him was, "have you ever ridden in a fast car? What do you drive?" To which he responded,"that toyota camry two door..."

I walked away.

Yeah, autos will have about 80-81% of your power at the wheels, manuals will have about 87%.

 

Maybe a built auto trans, but sure as hell not a stock one.

Stock V6 vs Stock V6 both 2000's mine's a manual and my buddy's is an auto. Stock tires and everything. Sure he didn't spin much he went forward right away, but it bogs down until the middle of 1st gear. Mine spun the tires for a second and I let off just a hair and it jurked forward and by the time I was doing 80mph i was back in his lane (started side by side on the road) and I didn't cut him off either i was a car length ahead of him. That was like a week after I got the car. I have drove a manual 5spd F250 before but never a car. Now I've been learning the car better for a while and I know it will easily kill an auto.
