Raptor Shift Light - Sucsess!!

I Mounted it on the A-pillar, wiring was kind of a PITA,my neck hurts because of the angle you have to be to wire it, but after a couple hours, its DONE!!

and it works wonderfully, lights up for about a second at 5800 rpms, the other night i went to "test" it, and it even works well over 100 mph :devil2:

Its, aluminum, looks sweet, Ill get some pics next week :beerchug:

Depends. It does not take much to hit 5800 smacking it in first. Course now the roads are so dam cold, I can't get any traction. I took the car out today and it barely holds the road in second. I can slip it into second, then at about 4,000 rpms, the tires break loose if I am at WOT.

Badfish 12-23-2005 08:16 PM

well then you can put the little cap on it that comes with it :)

Just found this thread while searching my site traffic and wanted to say hello (and Merry Christmas!) to you guys.

The Raptor Claw is something I designed with the approval and guidance from Rick, the owner of Raptor Performance. He's got a great product, and I wanted to incorporate it into my pillar design, but the provided clips were not the answer. So, I made small clamping mechanism our customers can choose (or add later) to their pillar.

Here's another shot of the pillar with Nexus gauges and the Raptor in place:

http://www.mustangmods.com/data/5604/nexus2.jpg

Here is a closeup of the mount by itself (the only two ever in billet!):

http://www.mustangmods.com/data/5604...ptor_mount.jpg

This is how the clamp works, shown in an empty Raptor casing:

Hope this helps answer a few of your questions.

*EDIT* Stanger00, are the "off-brand" gauges that look like Nexus from SPW? If so, they DO NOT fit my pods, too deep. Only brand in 2 1/16" I've ever had a problem with.

yup they are spw. i wasnt planning on buying these anyways. thanks for the info though.

MattJ 12-25-2005 09:32 AM

*drool*

The pillar with nexus gauges looks so badass! There are sooo many temptations for me to buy things but I really need that cobra brake upgrade all around or im not stopping when the car comes out in april. my brakes were toast when it went away.

lol, positive.. the light works fine.. it just throws a SES light when its hooked up (saying the fuel pump is disabled when obviously it's not). I have hooked it up a couple different times to make sure and tried everything.. I dunno anymore.

No problem. I saw your post and thought it would be good to catch you if that was the combo you were planning. Not sure why, but those 7 color SPW gauges (Nexus look-alikes) are almost 2.75 inches deep! Seriously, almost twice that of an Autometer or other gauge. Doesn't even come close to fitting my pillar. They look cool, though.
