I heard from a co-worker that Ford will be releasing a new Mach I in the 05 body style. From what he told me, it'll be a 5.4L V8 pushing over 350 ponies. Can anyone confirm? Or is it just another heartbreaking rumor...?

 

i dont know but i would really think of selling mine if that happens. the new stang needs a 5.4.

 

That would make sense, considering FORD isn't releasing the cobra until, I think 06 or 07... Also look for a new Bullet Stang model in 06...

Yep last I heard in MMFF the Mach 1 is over in Production. My theory is that they will come out with a Shelby Mustang or Shelby Cobra small two seater with a 5.4l or v-10. Why would they make a Shelby Cobra concept and not bank on it. Something big is going to happen, Dodge is kicking Fords *** with the SRT cars now the Magnum SRT8 has 400plus hp. rotest:

 

From what I have been told is the Mach is done, there may be a Shelby or a Boss some time in the future. He says Ford will see how well the GT sells and if sales dip they will bring out special models to boost sales. Also there will be a Supercharged Cobra in 07 and that will be my next car :laughing9

 

You know the price range for that new cobra? I'm thinking I could sell my Saleen for one I would even want an '03 cobra and just get a Saleen kit on it.

I do like the Saleen authenticity but I think that Saleen did a poor job on any interior modifications from the stock mustangs. All they did was stick a 200MPH gauge and a little plauque inside and add floor mats. I want some sort of seat identification or something or a steering wheel at least that sports the name. I want more power too and the 03-04 cobras come 390 stock. That is a lot...over 100HP difference compared to my car.

 

I just got my 04 for 28K out the door you could probably almost go straight up for one if you talk right!!

 

I just dyno'd my 04 5238 miles and it pumped out 366hp and 371lb/ft so it's quite nice. If you go by the 18% rule that would actually put me in around the 425 range on paper at the engine but all I know is it is fast enough to beat a non-Z-06 C5 Vette which is ok

 

Bullitt is done and overwith...I heard in an interview with Team Mustang the Bullitt will not be re-done, but rather they were looking into other types of famous mustangs for future use...I would expect to see a BOSS or Shelby with the next few years...

 

So yours is not stock i take it, what do you have done?
