I have Imatrex in my medicine cabinet at home, in my car, and in my desk at work.

Mine are so bad I cannot tolerate light at all, and most sound is too much too.

Same here, I just sit in a dark room until it eases off. It makes me nauseous, light headed, and there mostly light sinsitive. The medicine my doc gave does'nt do any good, how good is that Imatrex.

Think an O2 bar is Kookie-fornia only invention, in the states that is.

Hmmm, buy O2 at a bar, or parts for my Stang.......boy those exhaust fumes smell good, smell like victory!

I get 2-5 migraines a week (if I'm naughty and eat bad things it higher) plus at least 2 or 3 cluster headaches (clusters feel like a migraine but only last a couple hours and then die away leaving you nausious for the rest of the day).

I found out what causes most of mine (pizza and chinese food of any sort are 100% pain after an hour). After I cut those out, along with dark chocolate and sulfated wines (dark reds... my fave wine too... grrrr) I went from a non-stop migraine (really... like 5 days a week of puking from pain and trying to work through it, which I did for 10 years) situation to 1 every few days. If you've never experienced a migraine and want to understand why we gripe about them...I mean really understand, try slurpee induced brain freeze that lasts for 10-30 hours at peak intensity and effectively blinds you since light is the most painful thing in world right then. Don't forget that you can't eat, and even crying hurts so you can't do that (human nature find somewhere else to play) and you just ball up and turn into a quivering pile of agony.

It used to make my wife cry when I'd get one because I'd be in such obvious pain and she couldn't help.

Pot/weed/mary jane/herb/ganj/chrizz-on (don't even start on me about this till you've had the pain) helps prevent them in large part (drops me to 1 a week if that) and makes the nausea stop so I can eat (being able to eat makes them stop in just a few hours instead of many many hours).

Imitrex is for women (IMHO). They get good effect out of it. Guys normally don't get migraines and when we do they're hard to treat without narcotics of some sort (vicodin, oxy-contin, percodan, etc.. codeine doesn't work for me at all for any pain).

I use vicodin for migraine treatment since the itching and consitpation side effects make it too unattractive to use for anything but insane pain levels. That's my built in addiction insurance. I hate it enough to use it wisely.

Simply having migraines doesn't mean you have something wrong with you. Some people just get them and science can't explain it yet.

BTW...oxygen bars exist in California, arizona, nevada (duh), oregon and washington (just the ones I know of)... hmm looks like there's more than just California. I've never thought that they were a good idea except for hangover treatment... 1 tall glass of water and an hour in the O2 sniffer and all is well.

Man that must realy suck, I use to get them alot, still not as much as you, but now a day's I don't get them that often. My doc proscribed tramadol (Ultram) witch is as affective as a narcotic (suposedly) with out the addiction and other problems associated with narcotics.
