well, know this first, no matter HOW MANY mods you have, it wont change the price quote a cent. so strip that puppy, sell the parts, put stock stuff back on, and yeah 13 is probably a lil high

I'd guess they'll try to give you around 9 for it.

www.edmunds.com is your friend right now.

I would say 7 - 9k. It really is all a bunch of bunk, because it depends on what you pay for the other car. Don't get caught up in the trade too much, look at the price difference.

For example, lets say I come off the street and buy the Cobra with no trade and I pay $22k. Or, they sell it to you for $20K, but give you 7k for your trade. Who makes out on the deal?

Best bet is to buy the car w/o a trade and then sell it on your own. A car like you have should sell very well and you might get 11k for it that way.

I'm a car salesman and here's what they'll do....(if their good)
First off they will do what ever it takes to get you to buy it THAT DAY. In the car business time is money and we hate it when you waste our time. That's not being a d**k, it's just we only get paid off commission and if you waste and hour of my time, and someone else gets a fresh sale within that hour...i dont get paid and i wasted an hour and gave away a sale that could have been mine, plus i don't know if your actually going to come back. If your salesman actually goes over numbers with you ( i.e trade, price of car) and all that good stuff...and he knows your not going to buy...and let's you walk out of there, you got yourself a p***y salesman and he doesn't know how to do his job. Like i said it's not being a d**k we just have to eat too. Don't get it twisted though....we don't starve ....(i don't make less than 6k a month)

They will offer you 2k back of book for your trade. By book i mean wholesale. Depending on the sales manager (who you'll never see) he might stretch it out about a grand. If your lucky (and he's a horrible sales manager) he'll go a little over book. But also realize how much you owe on your car!! Cause negitive equity is a b***h...and trust me, your payments won't stay the same. Don't even try to say you want the same payments unless you got about 5-6k down with that price of car. Key is though...YOU NEED MONEY DOWN!!! That will help your payment. It's a givin....especially since you'll have negitive equity and money down will reduce it. Also he's got some room to work with the Cobra so haggle. Even though this is what i do...i would NEVER pay sticker for a car. You'll be upside down as soon as you sign papers. Stay FIRM on what you want to do...if he wants to sell a car...he'll do his best to hook you up. If not...then walk. I mean i don't always give cars away, but i'm down to make a sale and throw something out there. As far as the trade goes though, i'd keep it and sell it on my own. That's just how mustangs work. You could easily get a few grand more on your own. But you'll also have 2 payments till you get rid of the old one.

I'm not trying to expose the car business....but i just don't want you to get taken by a dealership. There are a lot of crooked salesmen out there but there are also a lot of good ones. So be patient...don't be afraid to walk out and find something else. Make that salesman work for his money...that's his job. Good luck buddy!!!
