Auto to 5spd swap
Any experienced guys / mechanics here may be kindof enough to tell me what an Auto to 5 spd swap might run me?, I have heard that if you swap it and sell your auto trans its not too much. Anyone have a good idea after parts and labor?. Real comments only please, if you dont have any useful info dont post it please.

I did an auto to T-56 on my 02
the wiring is all there
took us 20-25 hours ( i own my own speed shop)
and $500 worth of custom tuning
drive shaft and flange
crossmember
trans, clutch, flywheel
Was a fun project with little frustration
with a 6 speed prolly run you $5000
** that was a year ago and am still trying to sell my bult 4r70w with no luck.... ended up giving it away for storge space

Its going to be pricey, but if you look for the good, used parts, you can do it pretty cheap. Ive seen some trannys on the depot's classifieds for about 3-500 bucks before, in good shape. Yes, if you go brand new, its going to be expensive, maybe look for people who are parting their cars out, or junkyard cars, even if you have to rebuild the tranny, they should have all the parts you need.

hmm.. I think the best route would be just selling my stang and buying a 5spd, I got a 2002 V6 right now with low miles, i think im gonna shop for a 2001 GT with about 50,000 miles or so, should just be a tad more. I just cant stand driving the auto, i went from a 5 spd to an auto and after driving stick for a couple of years i cant stand the auto, you just dont have the same "Feel" for the car.
