Well, so far this has been aggravating. It's not realy hard, but some how it gets dark every time I start one of my stripes, and because of this I've messed up one of the hood stripes and one of the roof stripes. I doubt I have enough to go from bumper to bumper, so I'll probable go from the front bumper to the trunk.

Here's some pics of my progress so far.

Shambles 11-09-2005 03:05 PM

You missed a stripe on the roof.

Jack The Ripper 11-09-2005 03:06 PM

When i did mine, i had to do the front bumper 2 times, i had to re-do one of the front hood stripes, and one of the rear bumper stripes, and i still had like 6 feet of stripe left.
just be patient, and take your time. dont apply too much pressure, and work from the middle out. Its lookin pretty good dude.:)

Yeh, I had just finished messing it up, before posting this thread.
And you see how dark it is in the pics. Man, the sun goes down fast around here.

Thanks,
Hey, exactly how much spaceing is between your stripe and pin stripe. I remember you saying a 1/2 or 3/4, and all I could find was 3/4. The 3/4 looks a little to wide.

Jack The Ripper 11-09-2005 03:24 PM

I cant really remember, i wouldnt expect more than 1/2 inch

Man thats going to look sweet...................I cant wait to see th finished product..Where did you get the strips?

Jack The Ripper 11-09-2005 05:18 PM

www.rallystripes.com

Good stripes. Ive got them on mine, a buddy of mine has his truck done with these. I think Venom got his here too.

All in all good stripes and not too hard to do.

stang00 11-09-2005 06:49 PM

did u wash your car before doing that i hope looks dirty

WaterDR 11-09-2005 07:56 PM

I belive you put them on by spraying soapy water on the car.

rebelyell 11-09-2005 09:18 PM

Should look great when your all done. I installed some less tedious stripes and they came out pretty good. My 1st time. Get an early start and take your time. Plus get as much info on installation as you can.. GL and take some pics when your all done.. ;)

foncarelli 11-09-2005 09:36 PM

So far, so good. Just take your time.

dannyb785 11-09-2005 09:49 PM

definitely don't rush stickers. I rushed putting on the "4.6L V8" hood decals and it was raining that day and I had to go to work so after getting out of work...I look at the hood, and the "." of "4.6" is gone. So now I use a square piece of duct tape as the dot. it blends in pretty well but woulda been better if I just waited.

stangspeed 11-09-2005 09:53 PM

What size stripe are you using? 6" or 8"?

rebelyell 11-09-2005 10:05 PM

Yeah dont do your stripes on a rainy night. Plus you should actually do on a warm day in the shade. over 45 degrees but under 80 degrees I think I read that.

also when your all done park it in the sun all day. It will remove any little bubbles left over. If it's the good 3M stuff dont worry bout them little bubbles, they will disappear.. My side stripes had me worried after I was done. But now it looks like it was painted on

Jason24 11-09-2005 11:30 PM

ya hey slappy i JUST ordered my stripes off of www.rallystripes.com i am gonna install them ASAP. i asked you about them a while back and other stuff came up in that time... well i ordered the 8'' inch black stripes with pin stripes. i will post pics ASAP.

Pinto beast 11-10-2005 04:13 AM

stripes rock :)

whitethunder46 11-10-2005 09:34 AM

How do you think black stripes would look on a 2001 White saleen

If i were you i'd go a vivid electric blue for the stripes. Personally, i think it would stand out more and look way cooler than black.

Foster98GT 11-10-2005 12:25 PM

I Agree Blue Would Look a Lot Betta.

Its gonna turn a lot of heads.

DarkSith 11-10-2005 03:00 PM

No its not dirt on my bumper, it's bugs I live in a country type area and there everywhere.
Did you paint your calipers, or is that the bulitt calipers?

Grimmz 11-10-2005 03:50 PM

Looks real good bro. I'm guessing that hood scoop was a bitch to get right. Don't wash it for at least 24 hours and park that baby in the sun.

whitethunder46 11-10-2005 08:11 PM

If i did any stripes, it would most likely be black, heres why. On the saleen, on the bottom of the doors theres a decal that says, "SALEEN" this decal is black, tinted windows - black, black FR500 wheels. The entire outside of the car is white and black. I think the blue just wouldnt look quite right, on my car

I have a 2004 40th Anniversary GT and was looking for a place that carried the Arizona Beige color stripes. I want to replace the stock stripes that only go on the hood and trunk with ones that go from bumper to bumper but i want to keep them the same color. Ford seems to be good at keeping there colors to themselves and the dealership told me that they do not sell stripes that go all the way across the car. Anybody got any ideas on where i could fiind Arizona Beige stripes?

Aint gonna happen dude. Nobody carries them, Arizona Beige is actually trademarked by ford. The only way you might get it done is at a paint shop.
Ive asked the guys at rallystripes.com and bobwhitedecals and neither of them will touch that color.

I had the 40th stripes, i hated em. i liked having stripes, but i diddnt like how they were only on the top of the trunk and the hood, come on, i want my stripes going all the way around.

so i pulled off the stock stripes and put on my silver rallys. i like them a lot better

I went to graphic-express and they have custom colors but then I went to their color selection graphics-express and they have a beige that looks almost exactly like the Arizona beige. When you click on more info it says that it is not. Do you think that they just couldnt call it Arizona Beige or is there actually a difference in the color.

Both, they definatly cannot call it arizona beige. Ill also be willing to bet that the color is slightly off. so if you used it you would definatly have to remove the existing stripes, ill bet side by side you can tell quite a diff.

what color is yer stang anyways?

stangspeed 11-11-2005 12:55 PM

Im having trouble deciding if I want Black stripes or Dark Blue on white car..with black fr500 rims...hmmmmmmm
