04 prices?
My parents told me today that the dealer has a 2004 Yellow cobra on the lot. So I am going to go tommorow to take a look at it. I know there is a 98% chance that I will be able to do anything on it, but it would be nice to try :icon_geek I'm sure with the 05's out and all, they should be asking below invoice. Anyone good at dealing with salesmen? Or know anyone who has purchased a 04 cobra recently? I have seen on other forums where members have got new verts for like 31K, which is pretty damn good.

I work at a dealership so Ill be happy to give you some insight. Salemen dont make JACK on new car sales. All the money for the salemen are in used cars. You may give an incentive to the sales representative you are dealing with to sell you the car at invoice and tell him you will give him 200 cash "under the table" if you will. Id say on proof of invoice price because they are ALL backstabbers. Itll be more than he'd/shee'd make with the car anyways without selling it at invoice so you both make out. Also if you have a trade in, dont take anything below KBB private party. Tell him/her like it is, dont try and beat around the bush, because they deal with it all day. Go in there AFTER you play with your numbers. Any way they see they can take money from you, they will. Also if you are going for a loan, DO NOT do it through the dealership. Finance managers make their money off jacking up the interest rate that the bank approves you on. Go through your own bank without any finance managers help.
Good luck and that would be a sweet car to scoop up.

Well I went to the dealer. And it is not a Cobra they have. They have a Saleen, it was yellow, but it was a vert. The sticker price was 55k. I was so pissed of, I drove 40 minutes for nothing. So no cobra for Jeremy

There was no way I could have got the Saleen. Plus it was a vert and I'm not a big vert fan anyway. But for 55 grand, I'm sure the monthly payment would have been a sight to see. So I'm gonna keep paying on the ol' pony until the 07 cobra :angel4:

Yes, all of those added prices that dealerships add on to the price are jacked up HUGE! On aftermarket rims, they are usually brought in from a trade and dealerships may trade OEM for aftermarket straight up and try to tack on the extra price for that and NOT throw in OEM tires/rims. Also the PaintProtectant stuff that they use is about 40 dollars a bottle and they use mabye 1/4 on your car. Ill also tell you right now that, that stuff is a scam, invest in some nice wax instead. Pinstripes are bought from the automotive places like autozone (for 20 bucks for enough for about 20 cars) and they will hire someone outside to do it then tack on a 600 dollar price tag for it.
Its funny seeing this stuff day in and day out. It really gives you the inside look at purchasing a new vehicle. The day I buy a new vehicle, ill tell you that the dealership isnt going to make a dollar off me.
