so my brother if behind me going onto the onramp and we pulled into the the passing lane. and about at 90 i see the blue lights behind us. i was like §hit. so me and my bro. pull over. the cop was like "license, registration, and they make race track for a reason." and he say that to both of us. (my bro. has a 99 SS camaro) so he comes out of his car like 5 minutes later. he says to me "start your car." i did then he said " is that a aftermarket piece." i said "yea" then he went to my brother and did the same thing. (my bro just has a flowmaster muffler.) so then he goes back into his car for about 30 minutes. he comes back out and hand me my license, registration, and a ticket for 150-- 100 for incorrect lane change ( i didnt use my blinker) and 50 for aftermarket exhaust. and he was like your lucky scott. i was like yea i no. he said " i could of charged you with street racing, 90 in a 55, incorrect lane change, $600 for runnin incorrect exhaust, indangerment of others, and faliure to yield. then he was like ok your good to leave. then when i was leaving he looked at my brother and was like what an idiot. do you hear how loud that is. and he gave my bro. 50 dollars for aftermarket pipes. and 20 for following to close to another vehicle.

so that was my night before my b-day. do you guys think i should just pay the 150 or take it to court??? what about my brother????

and later that night my friend on his cbr 600 ran from the cops going 130 but then he pulled over and the cops gave him a 400 ticket from refusing to pull over. so yea last night was pretty crazy

 

Wow thats dumb, I have never heard of an aftermarket exhaust fine...Did he know you dident have cats? If he did then i could understand but it sounds like he was looking for every possible thing to get you on. i could understand the 90 in a 55 though..you were lucky on that, Thats almost double

hahahahahaha. i got a aggressive drivers ticket in maryland before and i went to court just so i would have to pay a reduced fine, but the cop didnt show up so i got off scott free.

 

I would fight it...If he could not prove you did not have cats then your exhaust is legal....Aftermarket exhaust fine wtf

 

in some states its illegal to alter your exhaust system. research it. learn the laws in your state and neighboring states that you may visit.

 

Truth be known the only reason you got stopped was because of the way you were driving. Sounds like you got lucky...not sure if you should push your luck.

 

u got off very easy u should have gotten ****ed overwith tickets up the *** u got away scott free basically dont take to court if u do the cop will have tocome and he will explain wut happened and then u will be ****ed ur very lucky he was nice

 

Cops do show up for tickets. Don't think they wont. If you don't consider yourself very lucky. It's in their job description to show in court when necessary.

 

Pay the fine. Dont even attempt to fight it.

Me on the otherhand, im APPEALING a decision by my local courthouse because there is ONE cop who doesnt understand what the definition of RACING is (no I wasnt racing, I did nothing illegal).

Then again the Judge I had was a dyke who just wanted to make her name known...
