does any one know where to find mach 1 hood? im thinking of getting the shaker hood scoop system either from here or karkraft.com...i dont wanna cut into my hood and all that good stuff.....thanx

 

Its better if you cut into your stock hood. Less money you have to spend. Just follow the template and youll be fine.

the only reason i dont wanna cut into my stock hood is cause i like the shape of the hood....like how it has three "levels" so to speak....not like the gt hood that goes level 1 to level 2 and back to level 1...i dunno how to explain it.....but yea

the stock mach 1 hood is much higher, and slopes down the the front at a higher angle, making the shaker hood scoop look better.
This is attempted in the CDC system though that little piece of black plastic, but you just dont get the real effect. Note, the aftermarket shake systems owuldnt work with the stock mach 1 hood... something would have to be changed somewhere...

 

yea i have been wondering this for a long time, when you buy the shaker system does it come with a piece to give u the same hood as the mach 1 or no cause i realy like the mach 1 hoods with the 3 raises in the hood wit the shaker out the top????

I've got an OEM mach 1 hood and shaker. I made a custom bracket to attach it to the 2V motor.

It cost me right around 1K with the paint job.

check out the mach 1 registry and ebay.

 

but was it worth it in the end????

 

so you gotta buy the shaker system and a new mach 1 hood on top of that to get the "tri-level" hood???
