Default What would you do.

Ok, so heres the deal. Im so torn on what to do with my car right now. Ok, heres the two options:

1. Save up and buy Mongoose kit after next summer. Make 375 rwhp, safe tune, risk blowing up stuff anyway, but having lots o power and that great gt sound.

2. Save up for two years, pay car off, and have down payment for 03 cobra once they get down to about 20k, have higher insurance, gas about the same, but have a solid, newer car with a built engine and an easy 450 rwhp.

Now, I know the Cobra sounds better, and thats prolly the way Ill go, but what you guys think. My car has almost 80k on it right now, so Im scared to put a lot more money in it, and Im to the point where Im tired of spending money on it. I just want my black bullitts and new clutch in, and ill be happy. What you guys think? Oh, and I still owe about 2 years of payments on the car, therefore, waiting two years to get cobra.

Personally I would not buy the mongoose kit, even though it would be a hell of a lot of fun....And I know that I will be flamed for saying that.

What I would do: Save you money and pay off your car...by that time you never know what will be happening or new car/technology will be out and without a car payment you can do whatever you want....

I am in the same boat you are. After all is said and done, i don't think i want another car payment. I owe two years on my car as well. I've spent a lot more money on my car than i spend on myself, and i've come to the conclusion that its just not worth it. As for me, i'm gonna finish paying my car and hope to not have another car payment for a while! ...I think that's what you should do.

At first when i was younger, i use to go to the tracks almost every weekend and had a good time. Nowadays, i can't even go, cause i'm busy with school, work, girls, etc....hell I haven't seen the track in almost two years now...

Yea, like I say, Im definately leaning towards the cobra, that way, I dont have to worry about puking rods, or burning pistons. Just doesnt seem worth it either, to put a 4000 dollar supercharger on a car thats not worth 10k that I still owe 2 years on. Man, for a 17 year old, I sure are smart...lol

No thats not weird, thats how you get it done. I would even go as far as getting a beater just to keep the miles down on the stang.

NO!! I must resist. Im not really worried about the miles, as the dealer is going to bend me over and not use any KY when I trade the car in anyway, but yea, Ive thought about a beater.

I would say go for the s/c, not saying a cobra would not be awesome but after you either get a cobra or a s/c you are going to want more and more and at least you wont have a car payment with the gt..and as long as you keep the horsepower below 400 with tims tune it will not blow up and even if it does then you could get built and be able to run 700 horsepower

Save up for the Cobra, damn they are nice too drive.I hate too say this but you can do all you want too your GT and everyone will still say it's just a GT.The Cobra on the other hand will at least hold it's value a little better and not everyone has one.

i know I am opening up the Flame-gate here but you may want to consider one thing:

Car Insurance

Say your gonna get it in 2yrs... 20yr old with a Cobra....Your insurance company is gonna love you....

Or if insurance doesn't matter screw what I said earlier and get the Cobra

Save for the cobra. If you dont mind having another car payment right after getting your GT paid off.. go for it. You could do all the mods you want on a cobra and not worry about blowing it up.

That's the route I would take.. except for the fact that I have like 5 years left of car payments!

Pay your car off and then decide what you want to do. A car is the worst investment you could ever make...

I don't see why would sell the GT just for a downpayment on a cobra...finacially it would be the same thing as putting money into your gt for the same hp and you would know all the miles on it. idk maybe thats just me, but why go for more bills...a cobra isn't guna be anything in 3 years, once the newer ones come out it won't be worth. Maybe for a Newer 06 07 cobra...

When the new ones come out, the 03-04s will go down in price. The platform is a very good base and the modifications are basically endless on to what you would like to do. They are very good and strong cars. However if you got a cobra, keep your 8.8 rear end. Screw having that IRS...

Thats all well and good, but going through that process you might as well throw a Kenny Bell sc, some body work and boom you got a cobra...i'm just sayin from a financial view point the cobra seems a lil much...Don't get me wrong I would LOVE a mach or Cobra, but with school and life...your guna have alota expenses ahead.

heres why u cant get a cobra. when u see one, your not impressed unless it makes 600rwhp. because stock they are fast. when u see a fast gt you are more impressed and its easier to trick people into racing you. buy the blower

As nice as a Cobra sounds, I say pay your car off and then decide. I have really thought of trading my car in and getting something new, but then I think of how nice NO CAR PAYMENTS would be. I say be responsible and get that thing paid off. You might change your mind in the end and decide to hang on to the car and enjoy no payments for a while.
