Default Detailing Question

Long story short I'm planning on detailing my 2012 wrangler. It is black. I am afraid to use my porter cable. I'm afraid to swirl. Should I polish by hand, then wax, or just wax? Not sure what to do with new car paint.

I always hand wax. The only time a buffer was used on my car was when it was repainted, they used a buffer and some 3M **** to make the front of the hood blend in with the front fascia.

Didn't make much of a difference.

brand new vehicle, just wax. No need to buff unless there are problems in the paint.

+1, no need to create problems if there are none.

Yeah i figured just wax. I was a little drunk when i wrote this from my phone. Autocorrect win for once.

I'm going to clay first to make sure the dealer didn't put any wax on there or anything.

I'LL DRINK TO THAT!

Yeah, all you need to do is wax it. There is probably is some shitty dealership wax on it, so clay-barring is a good idea.

I'M AFRAID TO SWIRL!

I'm willing to bet there are even a few swirls in it already but to have a vehicle without a single swirl mark is simply impossible. Why not use your PC to apply the wax? Won't hurt it at all.

I would clay and maybe even use a pre-wax cleanser/polish and then wax, although the polish probably isn't necessary.
