What gets me is they blamed OPEC for not producing enough barrels of oil.And now they are producing more than ever before and the price just keeps going up.It reminds me of when gas was under $1.00 and it started to go up and up and then when it went down to around $1.20 everyone was happy with that.I think eventually it will stay at around $2.00 a gallon and people will be glad becouse it's not over $2.50.

Thats it I say we literally take over Iraq and Iran and take all the oil from them in exchange we'll run there countries more efficient since they cant on their own. And while were at it drill the hell out of Alaska.........who goes there on a regular basis...didnt think so.....screw the migration of the animals it wont affect them that bad. Any questions there for gas drops back down.

Not quite...the world wouldnt allow a global monopoly over oil being directed towards one country. On top of that, the US doesnt have the manpower, nor the money (seen the national deficit lately?) to cover such an expense without upsetting the taxpayers by raising their taxes to an even higher level. On top of that, even if we did, the oil companies would still significantly pad their pockets by offering gas at high prices because they can (which is what they are doing now, and getting paid by the govt to do it).

Nothing would change, the worlds opinion of the US would just sink even lower.

In Columbus, GA its $2.61 for 87, $2.79 for 89 and $2.94 for 93. Its really starting to take a toll on me too. I didn't buy my GT for good gas mileage but then again regular was only 1.89 per gallon last year when i bought it. I don't keep up with politics and the oil trade, but i pray they get it together and fix it soon!!!

If not it will be time to abandon gasoline and start converting cars over to Ethanol!!! This stuff can be a hell of alot cheaper and even has some octane/power improvements over gasoline not to mention a slight cooling property when it burns off like methanol. Just read that the Indy Racing League will use american made ethanol as their only fuel.

Why would we do that? This idiot of a president cant manage this country, what would he do with 2 more that hes already devistated and the others that have been affected by us.
And why would we drill alaska? So your gas prices can go down 5 cents a gallon? You would destroy thousands of acres and destroy thousands of animals homes, and that doesnt seem to be an even trade to me. Alaska is about as populated as any other state in the US. How about we assassinate this president and have someone who has nothing to do with oil move in and sign a bill against this in-house scam.

I didnt vote for him...

About a week or so ago regular peaked at 3.29 a gallon here in Missouri just west of St Louis. As of today its 2.79 for regular down the street from my house. Ive been checking these websites periodically now to see what prices are doing.

The gas price here is outrageous too. Right now it's topping the charts at something like $0.22 a gallon. But then again, I'm 8000 miles away in Iraq. If only there was some way to get it over there....
