08mustang_gt - What is a "Squid" and what makes HIM one? Also how old are you?

Edit: The Squid started by "Lazerred6" and was stating that he probably doesn't ride. I don't recall badfish saying anything about a Squid.

Boy this forum has livened up a bit as of late. It's always funny when the bitching starts back up and everyone calls each other pussies or ****. Good times. I don't own a motorcycle, nor have I ever ridden one, but I must say i'm a big advocate of doing your research, starting off small and really learn what you are doing. There's always going to be someone who calls you a ***** for starting off on a "slow" bike or whatever. Do whatever you think you'll be comfortable with. It's nobody else's money, nobody else's life, but yours. And no offense, but throwing around things like I have 5+ years experience on street bikes and such really isn't that long if that's true cause that means you've been illegally riding street bikes since you were like 13-14? I have 13 years of driving experience, but doesn't mean I know everything about driving and can handle any situation thrown at me.

But anyways, lets just continue calling each **** and making this board active again.

I was saying that the way he came across he sounded like and inexperienced rider that did not where the proper gear and probably only goes fast in a straight line but takes corners slowly. AKA squid

ok new subject... how did you guys go about getting on the road?

After I get a used bike, I basically just practice in a big parkinglot, and then when I'm ready take the written permit test, which will let me be on the road, but with no passenger, and can't leave the state. right?

Just trying to figure everything out while I raise the cash.

Yeah, that's why I asked how old he was. LoL
There is actually A LOT of Motorcycles who don't have their license or insurance. I believe it's mainly Harley type riders from what they told me.

So let me get this straight, you don't ride right? and your calling anyone who goes fast in a straight line, slow in the corners and without proper gear is a Squid?
Please tell me your kidding? Because I'm seriously laughing at how stupid this is.

I believe every State is different and your supposed to have a license rider with you at all times until your Endorsed.

**** Busa's, those are old news. Go with a Ducati 1198 SP or if you want traction control get the BMW S1000RR.

First I really couldn't care less if you beleive that I ride however I do not currently own a bike but I do have a few years of experience riding

second that is the definition of a squid so yes thats what I'm saying

or the acronym Stupidly Quick, Underdressed, Ignorant and Dangerous

Are you defensive because that's the way you ride or are you just really fond of needacobras dick

My problem here is you using a word for the wrong meaning. I'm not defending him or even with him on this. I'm sick of people using the word over and over for the wrong purpose. It doesn't make you a Squid because you don't have the proper gear (don't have gear and/or can't afford it) and can't take corners as good/fast as others.

Therefore if he's a Squid so are 50%+ of other riders.
Are you sure your not gay? Can you not come up with something better to say? Just makes you more of a ******.

Edit: Here are good examples for you.

He used the term squid properly enough...it means what it means.

If you ride without gear you are a squid, I dont give a **** if you do EVERYTHING else right.

I apologize for spelling wear wrong

Squid also incorporates sudden bursts of speed while poorly dressed

like when a squid suddenly spurts ink and takes off

That's pretty sick!
I guess he's a Squid too, because he doesn't have proper gear. Right?

Then it looks like almost most of us who ride are squids and no one around a lot of the forums use that term for a Squid.

This forum doesn't need your highschool drama bullshit. Nothing you have posted in this thread has been useful, only trying to make yourself seem like some badass. How about you meet me or Fishy in real life and lets see how big that mouth of yours really is.

How about we meet in mississippi? Thats about halfway. PM me if you you'd like my phone number, or directions to where I live. Lol. Dipshit.

Well I guess that would make you pretty ignorant then. Haha, and btw....anyone can google the acronym for squid. A for effort though, right?

Oh...how could I forget. You just tried to insult me with a gay joke, and your user name is Lazerred6. Is that what they call you in all the gay bars? Im guessing you have a red, sore *******, and can take about 6 inches? Hm. Not my lifestyle choice, but whatever.

Who said it was confusing?
I was just stating that almost all riders are squids then. Even though we DON'T use that term.

As Ive stated before my bike is my only vehicle. I ride everday to work, and every weekend I ride close to if not more than 500 miles just going and visiting friends and what not. Now...in all the riding I do 90% of the other riders that I see are riding in t-shirts, and shorts, and are just riding like ****** who like to show off. Most of the time, its guys on crotch rockets. Not to pick on any sport bike guys, thats just what I see around here. Ive seen dudes on cruisers doing it to, just not as often. My point is, though, that most of the people that use the term squid, are more than likely squids themselves, and thats what I get a kick out of. I wear what gear I have, which consists of boots, a leather jacket made for riding, and gloves. No I dont have a helmet. Its not really one of my top priorities at the moment because in Fl there is no helmet law, and I really just dont care. It would be nice to have one to keep the bugs from hitting me in the face, but its just not in my budget right now. My all around riding is pretty conventional....I dont dart off from lights, and I dont cut people off, or weave through traffic. Im fine without the tickets. The way I see it, any douchesack can call me a squid all they want but, chances are, said douchesack is in fact the squid, and trust me, when someone lies to them self it eventually makes them feel pretty ******' stupid.

I rode almost 2 years before I got my endorsment and over 2 years before I got gear. I've always had a helmet, since it's the law. A new rider on the forum gave me his jacket and gloves. So before the gear, I was wearing Skate Pants, Skate Shoes and Skate T-Shirt and would use my hoodie when cold.
Most of us and a lot of the people on the Motorcycle Forums use Squid as in someone who rides around with shorts, flip floops and a Tank Top/Shirtless or some of that stuff. Hell I'll still ride without my gear sometimes, just depends. I don't care if I'm a Squid and/or a Hooligan. Being one doesn't change anything and what they do is their problem and their body, not yours.

First of all I'm fixing to be 20.

Secondly, you can race bikes before you ever even turn 15. It just has to be on a track and your parents have to sign for it, which mine did.

Third of all, anyone who doesn't wear gear while riding is a squid. That is that. If you ride wearing some shorts and normal shoes, then you're a squid. I don't give a **** what you do, but I'm also going to call you a squid if thats what you are.

Jeans, a leather jacket, helmet, and boots are a minimum at all times. I don't give a **** how hot it is.

I love the immaturity of this thread. NeedACobra, you're just making yourself look like an idiot. But PLEASE keep going, because this **** is making me crack up.

Anyone who doesn't wear a helmet while riding is pretty ****** stupid. Even if it's not the law and whatnot, it's still pretty stupid. It's your life so whatever, but still. I wouldn't be so worried about taking it easy and all that, it's the stupid drivers who don't pay attention that can kill you. But if you rather have your head slam into the pavement and turn into a nice pile of goo, then good for you, but I'll still call anyone a moron for it. Yeah I don't ride, but I'm sorry, if you can't afford a helmet, then maybe you shouldn't be riding.

Oh, and I forgot to call you guys ****.

and seeing as I learned how to ride when I was 16 I've probably spent more time around bikes than you (maybe not riding) just never really owned one cause in michigan you can't really ride more than say 30 days out of the year due to Michigan sucking at providing nice weather.

I have friends and relatives that all own bikes or multiple bikes so I have never had a need to buy my own.

Pointless side note
I part owned a ninja 500r a few years back that me and a friend bought for $500 (didn't run) fixed and sold a month later. That's the closest to ever owning one.

P.S. You don't need to be a regular rider to recognize stupid when you see it
