That's because it's the new Ninja 650R.

I'm very picky and have a short list, so I don't like many motorcycles and I only like Super Sport Motorcycles. :/ haha

Thanks for the input guys. Basically, I'm leaning towards the ninja 600. Don't know if that's the technical name for it or whatever, but I'll ahve a better idea wants I go to the shop a few towns over soon.

(Im not refering to super sport either, since im a beginner)

but, ill keep you guys updated, and yes... i still may just get a 250, if u guys think that wud be best... but im really attracted to ninjas. so thats probly what it will be)

I like the supersports better too but I don't think they would make for the best beginner bike.

There are no twisties around here and I have no desire to stunt so I would really like one of these (minus the wild graphics though). I live a few blocks from Roaring Toyz

It's called a Ninja 650R, like it says when you look at it. The Super Sport Bikes are called "ZX6R". If you like it then you should go with it, I don't really suggest a 250. Badfish had a really good feedback.

Like this, my 05 ZX6R (636CC)

Pretty sure most people do, but who knows. It really depends on the person. The first bike I've ever rode was a 999 and I was WAY younger (I'm 22 now). Then I got my 05 ZX6R (636cc) for my first actual bike that was an hour away from home (yes, I rode it home). I didn't have my endorsment, no training, no skills, no motorcross, NOTHING and I'm doing just fine.

I'd hate my life if there was no twisties or track. Stunting I haven't really got there yet, I don't feel like ruining my bike yet if it happens. ha I'm not really a fan of extended swing arms, but that's the only way I'd do it for drag racing. Otherwise I think it's ugly on the street. A guy local, well on the forum is almost done with his Turbo ZX14R.

Nice bike!!!

I'm only about 15 mins from the nearest drag strip so that's why I'd want the extended swingarm. I't has become pretty popular around here because the land is so flat.

Just found this for sale locally for just over $4K. You guys are going to get me in trouble with the wife. LOL

It's still a work in preogress now. That picture was taken just after I got it back from being stolen I believe.

That's the only way to do it. They can look sick if it's done right. Just get a Motorcycle, you know you want to. This is just my opinion, I don't really care for that CBR, but I like the color (minus the Gray).

I want that one! lol... I'll take my camera to that dealership place and take pics of ones I might get. I'm wanting a black one, and would do the HID upgrade.

Went to the courthouse also, but apparently they don't have motorcycle manuals anymore, so the lady just gave me a website to go to.

If you want it that bad then go with it. Get a DDMTuning HID Kit if you do.
I can't believe they don't have a manaul book anymore, that's just very weird. I believe there is a guy on YouTube with a Triumph that was giving pointers for new people. Wouldn't suprise me if there is a ton of videos out there.

Totally of topic but if I move south once I graduate in about a year I will be getting more into riding but I'm going the other direction as far as beginner bikes go

Call it whatever you like I know it's nothing knew as far as motorcycle tech goes but I love me a Harley

I'd go for a brand new 883 iron I'm more into cruising anyway.

I'm pretty sure alot of you guys don't like em but to each his own

Check this out: http://www.kawasaki.com/Products/pro...?id=501&scid=0

With a 1k downpayment, and 6% interest rate... I would be paying 274.74 for 24 months for a brand new ninja sport 650r.

Not doing it obviously, since I'm not ready to buy one. But thought I'd show you guys.

That doesn't sound like a good deal. But than again I'm into bigger bikes and at 7k I can almost get my self a Ducati 1098 or more. haha

Have you thought about getting a bank loan and finding something cheaper on CraigsList or something? Unless money isn't a budget.

Money isn't too big an issue, but this will be my first time buying one, so I'm not really sure whats a good deal, and what isn't. I'll check craiglist and ebay once the time gets closer to buy one... around the middle of summer sometime.

How much might I be expecting to pay on riding gear? Helmet, gloves, etc?

edit- that price was for a brand new 2011 model. but i probly wont be buying one brand new for my first bike.

Durning the winter is when they're cheaper and durning the Summer, well ya know. haha

It's all on what you want to pay, can afford and what you like. I spent $400 I believe on a helmet. I haven't bought gear yet, because I know what I'm after isn't going to be cheap. Go to MotorcycleSuperStore, CycleGear or other websites to give an rough idea.

I know what that price was for. I wouldn't buy a brand new bike either way no matter what, nor do I really like new edge vechiles.

I wouldn't get a loan for something you are most likely to crash..or at least drop. save your money, buy a cheap bike. my first bike was a 1986 GSXR 750. old school 80 hp carbureted beast...picked it up for 500 bucks. learned how to ride..never crashed, but dropped it a few times. it was already beat up so it didn't matter...I miss that old thing...I think I have a pic somewhere..

Dunno about you guys, but the CBR600, is the sexiest bike in the world to me. Also for lazzzerred, i heard the 883s were kinda on the weak side of power, and you might wanna consider the 1200 version. Often times heard of people selling them because of just like a 250 they get bored, not so much with a 1200. I got my endorsement a few weeks ago, and am now looking for a bike, just trying to currently convince the parents for a sport bike, instead of a cruiser.

Yeah the thread I linked him to said stuff about this as well, along with a bunch of other good options.
He can buy a new one, get frame sliders that will protect most of it and if he LEARNS and RESPECTS the bike he'll be fine. The parts are cheap too, well for me with Kawi parts they are. haha
It sucks being attracted to something, selling it and then regreting it later.

Girls dig any bike. Girls ask me for a ride every time they see me on the bike. It actually gets kind of annoying after a while, and it has yet to land me a dtf chic. Just a bunch of bitches who want a relationship....But I just figure Im going to the wrong bars.

The 883 Sportster is about the only Harley I like as far as looks go. Id take an earlier model though.

Hard to believe the 883's could get boring quick. I ride a 750cc Vulcan and that ******'ll keep up with my step dads Harley, and its like a...1500 or something. Not sure. I can actually out run him until I hit 5th. He has a 6 speed.

I want one of these bad boys.

I personally don't think I would get bored with the 883 I love the way it looks and I really don't car about speed. My buddy has a 750 katana that I've ridden many times and I have never gone over 70 on it.

For me it's all about being in the open. I love to just cruise down a wide open sorta curvey road. There is a great one that runs along lake michigan. It's absolutly ******* phenominal to just go ride for awhile stop to grab a bite and then keep going
