Latest purchase and some news
Just picked this up yesterday. I was considering building an AR since r3d has a good deal on a lower, but the cost just wasn't going over well with the wife. So instead got this on sale. Yes it's only a .22, but that's all I wanted since it will give me something fun and cheap to shoot. I have the glock for something more powerful.
So that's the purchase, and the news is that come Sept. I'm going to be a father.
S&W M&P 15-22

You just never know. And at $20 for 525 rounds, there will be plenty of ammo to go around.

Nice. My buddy who has a S&W M&P .40 for carry, recently got a Walther .22 pistol for some target practice. We spent about an hour yesterday shooting at a **** Zombie target. Then we got his .17 out to plink off birds at about 125 yards, that was fun.

OP congrats on the new rifle and even more so on the news about becoming a daddy. Are you hoping for a boy or a girl?

You know, I really don't care if it's a boy or girl. People keep saying oh come on, what do you really want. It doesn't really matter as long as it's healthy. It's not like you have choice anyways or just give it away if it's not what you wanted. haha

I've got both uppers now. They're set up with 650m zeros using Burris signature series rings and offset's (different rings than in pic). One has a bullet drop compensating target scope with 44mm bell and the other has a big 50mm objective varmint scope, both are 6-18x. Both uppers are in 5.56/.223.
I've got my eye on a 24" 6.5grendel and a pair of .22 uppers for them. Still have my 3rd lower waiting for that 6.5.
Took them out to the desert and did some long range work. At 350m they're so easy to hit with they're boring. At 500 it was still holding easy. At 650 the wind became a factor but it was still doable. At 1000 the mirage was so bad I couldn't really see the target so much but I fired once and I landed the shot so we packed up and went to Vegas for lunch.

lol, that made me laugh man.
Being in Scotland means guns like that are not available but I love guns, I was in the Army so I understand and like them and there`s plenty of hunting and shooting getting done in my area. I can`t apply for a firearms license though as I have a record.
Some guy in a bar spat in my face and threatened to knock me out so I melted him with a pool cue. So no license for me. Bummer.

given an unladen zombie in motion at 1.5mph with a consistent side to side wobble in the stride and a zombie height of 1.8m and calm air, I could do a lethal headshot every time out to 650m with my gun. Center mass hits would be pretty reliable out to 900-1000 if there's no wind. If I had some time to tinker with better ammo (all I've used from those combos so far is 62gr steel cased crap) I could reliably take the head shot (well... ~ 7 in 9 tries anyway) challenge out to 700m. If we can stop their motion it's a lot easier to go farther but the fact of the matter is my guns are .5-.75MOA shooters and I can hold about a half minute and a head is only about 8" across so past 750m it's just blind fuggin luck anyway on a head size target. That's why at that range you take the body shot or use a more accurate gun, like my .270 which is a proven .3MOA shooter with the right ammo.
Shooting my .223's to 1000m is/was purely an academic exercise. I have guns that reach a lot farther than that with much more dramatic results but they hurt to shoot and aren't semi-auto.
My buddy Scooter that was with me managed shots pretty reliably on 10" targets out to 650m and he's never shot anything over 100yrds away before.

Well of course if the zombie virus break-out starts in Kenya we're all fucked....just sayin.
#24
Then we just start picking off all the worthless people before they can turn into zombies. That way we can at least slow down the outbreak. Survival of the fittest.

I'm going for the politicians!

Nonetheless I choose to go after the bitches who would just whine and complain the whole time. Might as well make their fate come just a little bit sooner.

Then go with BCM. Their stuff is the sweetness.

haha, get one. I'm still waiting to go shoot mine. Damn weather has been shitty so the outside range by my house has been closed. I'll have to go to the indoor one this weekend and do some shooting. Also got my package of 500 .40 rounds yesterday, so I'll have to take the glock out too.
