Default Going to the Dyno...

Well, as some of you know I recently installed a 2.76 pulley and along with I purchased a SCT Xcal3 from AM with a custom tune. I got everything put together and uploaded the tune. Car runs very strong up to 5200rpm at WOT and then just falls on its face like it loses spark. I tried all 3 tunes, the race, the performance, and the street. Samething with all the tunes and the car ran great before I did this stuff. So I decided that I would feel a whole lot better if I got a Dyno tune so I did some research on shops in my somewhat close area. Found Performance Autosport in Richmond. They have some real impressive customer cars listed on their website and I did some research. Appears they do good work. Called today and set up my appointment for this saturday at 10pm. I'll be taking the camcorder so I should have some video and numbers for you guys this weekend.

That is weird that it falls on its face. You would think a tune for a bolt on car with a pulley would be easy to do now.

I called AM and spoke to some guys from BAMA tuning and they wanted me to check my spark plugs and let me know if they were alright before they would modify my tune. I still think it's in the tune, but I'm going to check them before I head out Satuday regardless.

I hope you find the culprit and get it running right. A dyno run is something that I need to do to get somewhat of a baseline. I don't have enough engine mods to require a tune.

Funny thing is, I have the same problem in the Termi.

It seems like the closer it gets to redline the more it just falls to pieces. The car had a Diablo tune on it before from Delk in TN and it did great, but I switched it for an SCT XCal and got Bama to send me a tune and now it runs like ****.

I've gotta strong feeling they just don't know how to tune Cobras.

Also, I've replaced the plugs, coils, and fuel filter. None of it helped at all.

Dang, hope you get it figured out! Spark plugs would be a good starting point, tho.

For you no, you should have a dyno tune. For his simple bolt on car, VMP is where its at.

Does yours fall off slowly or instantly? When I hit 5200rpm it's pretty much like hitting a rev limiter, it literally loses all power instantly. But if I take it to redline gently, like half half throttle, it does fine.

Mine will do it only at WOT. Like its hitting fuel cut off or something, which SHOULD NOT happen with the power I make even with the port.

It does just like yours it hits and goes from feeling like a 600hp car to a 200hp car. I've been told plugs, coils, bad gas, everything. But after replacing and trying it all I really think its a tune issue. I've had the issue before when I used the Diablo's stock tune, but Delk fixed it at least mostly. Now it's back with the Bama tune on the SCT.

my car did this when my spark plug gaps went from .035 to .042. That was enough of a gap to cause spark blow out....my car would just sputter at the 5500+ range. Check your plugs for wear and gaps.

I've replaced the plugs twice. Checked the gap, had a buddy check the gap. Not that sorry.

Well I'm back.

Car made 402rwhp/464rwtq at 4700rpm. Car is still cutting out bad at high rpm's as you can tell from the low rpm. There is definitely more HP there, just have to find the problem and fix. Definitely fuel related = more money...

One guy at the shop recommended I check on the PPRV and get the delete kit. After some reading up, it's a plausible cause of my problem along with pretty much anything else fuel related but most likely the PPRV. Was told by the tuner that the car is fine to drive around and stuff which is a must for me considering it's my DD and the tune is spot on up to 4700rpm but obviously he couldn't get it any further because of my problem.

I'm honestly thinking about just going ahead and doing my whole fuel system since I'm going to have to drop the tank anyways.

Working on getting the video up now...

Intake, Pulley, Exhaust, and tune...

Should put down about 460-470hp when I get the fuel problems fixed.

Might check your MAF bro. Suprisingly, with a few of my buddies, that has been the culprit. Also, what LB injectors are you running? Might be beneficial to upgrade to larger injectors to compensate for the all the mods adding up. Might also be the FPDM..... might look into getting that POS upgraded.....

A little breathing room requires some larger injectors unfortunately. Your cobra pumps should be good until 600hp+ roughly. So I wouldnt go much further then those listed above.
