Default Opinions Please

Long time no post but I'm still lurking around the corners from Germanland. For some reason this site is very very slow over here and it really takes some patience to go through the topics regurlarly, but I do read most of them just don't post up much.

Down to business...we need to buy a cover for my husbands Shelby GT, it's a 2007. He's deploying again soon and his car won't be driven much since I hate driving a stick. We need one that will be good for outdoor and will stay put. I would like to hear about any ones you've used, the good, the bad or the ugly.

Oh yeah..driving over here is ******* awesome!!

well i wouldn't put a cover on the car if its going to be out side, i think the wind blowing the cover and it rubbing on the paint does more harm then good.

i would just get some stuff to block the windows so the sun does not fade the inside of the car.

and tell your husband to stay safe!!!!

Thanks. It's mostly because there are trees near our parking and we get alot of crappy weather. If the weather stays the same we won't have to worry about having enough sunshine to fade anything.

I'd rather have my car covered and tied down then getting completely rained on.

I have a Wolf cover and it works very well. It has two eyelets about half down the lenght of the car and you tie it under the car or between the eyelets. I dont remember where I got it from though

Glad that you chimed in and hope everything is going good. Tell the old man to take care and be safe, that goes for you and the boys as well!

rain isn't going to hurt your paint if you keep it maintained by detailing it.

i just dont like the idea of having some thing rub on my paint over and over again.

I second with the no cover because of the rubbing too. The abrasion would do more damage than good. Just take 15min and wash it every week or two and you will be fine.

I use a Ford all weather cover that I've had for years since I had my '98.. Don't have to worry about scratches and what-not as long as it's down tight and doesn't whip around in the wind. Just make sure you take it off every once in a while, especially after it rains and wash the car and it will be fine.
