Hell, they let Kimbo, a street fighter in there, cause kimbo had ALOOOTT of hype, and hype equals ratings. They let Brock in to see what he could do AND to wrangle up all the "professional wrestling" fans and get them to buy the UFC ppv's. Turns out he beats some mediocre guys, and now every douchebag redneck I know thinks brock lesnar is the best pound for pound fighter on earth. Im just saying, the Heavy-weight division in the UFC wasnt all that stacked when Lesnar got in there, and it still hardly is. There are a shit ton of better, more deserving fighters out there.

Fair enough. I agree that he's definitely not the best pound for pound fighter, but he's obviously got some skills. I guess only time will tell to see how well he does when better fighters arise.

I agree on Koscheck but not Rashad. Only for the fact that he trains at Jackson's. If not i would agree. lol

Did anybody catch UFC Primetime last night? Cover Evans and Rampage as they train for the fight. Rashad's training At the Grudge Training Center in Denver looked intense..sprinting with parachutes attached to him and what not. while it just showed rampage boxing and jogging around liverpool lol. I'm thinking rashad might take the win on this one.

Don't doubt Rampage so much. Rampage has never liked training, and he is actually focusing for it. The camp Rashad is at (he was also in Montreal as well) is the same camp GSP is at..where they teach the amazing lay and pray method.

Rampage however, is a good wrestler, went to college for it as well. He's extremely strong and may very well be able to force Rashad off of him. Rashad doesn't have an amazing chin either..we've seen it.. Rampage on the other hand does...anyone remember how many soccer kicks to the face it took Rua to finally get Rampage to "quit" lol.

Rashad calling Rampage "Quittin" is funny, Rashad hasn't been kicked in the face while he's on the ground multiple times by a guy like Shogun..

If he is such a bad ass how come he don't fight the best. IMO thats why he (or his handlers) don't sign with the UFC. In the UFC their are no easy fights.

Dude, there have been plenty of pride fighters making the transition to the UFC and whipping ass. Anderson, Shogun, Vitor, Dan Hendo..etc..holding titles, too, I might add. Fedor is probably holding out for a bigger contract.

I'm not sure where you went with this. I said nothing about Pride guys not making it in the UFC, I said Fedor seems to be dodging the best fighters.

The best way for Rampage to win is this ^, use his wrestling to keep the fight standing and KO Rashad. I don't think Rashad is giving Rampages power the respect he deserves, and he gets KO for it. The best chance Rashad has is to use to front leg kick like Forrest did, and then use his hands to to put together combo's to set up take downs. Rashad has to get it to the ground to win plan and simple, if he stands and trades he goes to sleep.

SnTBakosFinest 05-13-2010 06:18 PM

Fedor has fought some of the best. He won't sign with the UFC over the way fighters have been treated there, and money. Not to mention he owns like half of Strikeforce. He's getting older, I don't think he's wanting the fights he used to want.

To say he wouldn't demolish 99% of the guys in UFC is absurd. I'll say the other 1% would give him a good fight though.

His handlers = his management. They seem to want more stuff than Fedor does. Why the hell he keeps them guys around is beyond me.

He has said he will NEVER fight in the UFC. Himself, as a fighter. He OWNS half of Strikeforce. The only way he'd fight in the UFC is if they did a joint promotion. Why would he go to UFC and take money away from his business?

rkaz 05-13-2010 07:44 PM

I knew he was part owner of M-1 Global, but I didn't know he got part of Strikeforce. I thought M-1 gets to be a co promotion when Fedor fights in Strikeforce. Fedor's manager is the other owner of M-1, and Dana White will not let a M-1/UFC promotion happen just to sign Fedor.

You're right. It's M-1. I get the two mixed up.

M-1 and Strikeforce do co-promotions etc, but the UFC will not. They like having contracts with the fighters themselves, that way they can put them into their video games etc, etc.

rkaz 05-14-2010 06:59 AM

Strikeforce also works with DREAM to make some pretty good match up's that wouldn't happen other wise. I think this is a good way to keep their doors open, but Dana will do his best to shut them down. The only reason White will sign Jake Sheilds is to piss Strikeforce off.

hope you didn't put money on that fight :D

and did anyone catch tonight's fight (liddell/franklin)? daaaaaamn

j_gutta870 06-13-2010 07:50 AM

Who thinks Liddell is done after last night?

Badfish 06-13-2010 10:23 AM

oh he's definitely done.

http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Whi...ell-Loss-25056

'White said it was time for Liddell to retire.

“I hope he agrees,” he said, “and I don’t think he won’t.” '

rkaz 06-13-2010 06:17 PM

That is all you will see of Chuck, that was his last contract fight and no way he would go anywhere else. What about Cro Cop with a rear naked choke? I was shocked to say least.

j_gutta870 06-27-2010 05:35 AM

Anyone see the fight last nite? I bet no one expected that outcome.

Keith Jardine has also been dismissed from the UFC.

Badfish 06-27-2010 12:35 PM

wait...who fought last night? I saw keith jardine lose last saturday...was it the same fights?

j_gutta870 06-27-2010 01:19 PM

It was strikeforce fights.... Fedor Emelianenko and Fabricio Werdum. Fedor tapped about 60 secs into the first round.

Fedors only losses are submissions, I believe..
Ill be impressed when someone knocks him out.
And btw, fedor came back and beat the last 3 people that beat him.
Fabricio does have a some-what impressive record, Ill give him that.

Badfish 06-27-2010 01:52 PM

wow..no shit. was it on cable tv, ppv, or what?

j_gutta870 06-27-2010 02:31 PM

it was on showtime i think

SnTBakosFinest 06-27-2010 05:49 PM

Fedor has 1 loss that was in a tournament where he got cut by an illegal hit..but someone had to win and advance, Fedor couldn't.

He has a NC when he fought Antonia Noguera due to an accidental headbut.

This fight was something impressive by Werdum. The guy is a badass in Jiu Jitsu and proved it, he got rocked, hit the ground, Fedor pounced, and fell into Werdum's strength. Fedor made a mistake.

He's got one fight left on his contract..hopefully he'll come back after though.

NeedACobra 06-27-2010 06:00 PM

Heh. I thought I mixed up fedors record with anderson silvas.....but I guess not.
Where the fuck did I get that from?

j_gutta870 06-27-2010 06:14 PM

It was crazy because when he pounced he landed on Werdum in just the right position to get fucked up lol...

I guess now we'll see if Dana White still wants to pursue getting Fedor in a contract with the UFC after what happens with Lesnar and Carwin....

Picking Carwin to win by knockout by the way

Thats like one of the sketchiest things to do to a BJJ, or JJ, fighter. Fall into their guard. Even when they're rocked. haha.

Im HOPING Carwin doesnt disappoint. I really dont think he will, though. Dudes a bamf.

j_gutta870 06-28-2010 08:54 AM

Hmmm... Has anyone watched Bobby Lashley fight? If so what do you all think of this dude? You think he can get in the UFC now?

I think he'll be a big money cow if Dana White made a move for him

j_gutta870 07-03-2010 09:30 PM

So.......... How about those fights tonight?

Not even close to what I expected....

NeedACobra 07-03-2010 10:12 PM

Lesbo vs Carwin should have been called in the first 30 seconds of that entire minute long beating. Lesbo wasnt even intelligently defending himself. Josh Rosenthal Needs to be shot......matter of fact, so does Herb Douche, and Yves Lavigne. Let Yamasaki, or McCarthy ref all the fights. They seem to actually know what they're doing.

Badfish 07-03-2010 11:55 PM

ugh..no words..

j_gutta870 07-04-2010 06:39 AM

Yea I thought for sure it was over in the first round but Rosenthal wouldn't stop the fight.

On a brighter note I really really like the Leben fight. Should get fight of the night

He was defending himself the entire time, granted he was taking hits to the head, he was still able to defend himself. A ref isn't going to call off a main event match (especially a championship) just because someone slipped up and ended up on the wrong side of a ground-n-pound.

NeedACobra 07-04-2010 06:08 PM

Yeah...that sure was a great defense.
