Getting into the game again (non car related)
the last month or so i have been having back problems so i have not been able to train for a couple of competitions that my friends and are competing in. the first one is a 10k mud run in philadelphia which is in july (actually exactly 10 weeks from last sunday) and the second one is 12 miles and 19 crazy marine style obstacles in november in NJ, actually at Englishtown raceway (toughmudder.com).
tomorrow is the real first test to see if my back is completely healed. if all goes well, most of my energy will be towards training for these events and the last 2 weeks of school.
as of now i am 5' 8.5" at 225 lbs and around a 22% body fat content. yea im fat. it has been a good 4 years since i have done anything physically demanding other than the occasional pick up football game.
luckily i have the motivation of my friends. One is a rugby player for Penn State and the other is a to-be marine (ocs graduate, so he has go thru a lot of marine training)
wish me luck, these first 10 weeks are going hopefully be extremely fun!

Really, 10K any kinda run would kill me. I shudder to think if something were to chase me that I absolutely had to run from, I would be toast, or lunch. But I'm bout to be 50 so **** running. I'll walk or drive. I can usually run about 20 yards till my knee or something else goes off in the wrong direction. Then I stop and breathe hard...
