Default Happy Anniversary??

Can you guess the anniversary? We did it 2 times. Should we have done it? Should we have done it again 20 years later? Should we DO it again? Should we let everyone know that we can do it again? I'll bet this raises some interesting responses. my answer is I think we should start testing again. Some dry land stuff maybe. It's been awhile... Comments ??

U.S. did the testing in mid July. Bikini Atoll was successful enough for the go ahead for use in war. It almost didn't happen because of uncertainties and minor malfunctions before and during the drop. After Hiroshima Japan still held out on total surrender. They were willing to do a military surrender which would have meant the emperor would still be in power. Truman said no way, so Nagasaki gets it on the 9th of August. That was the straw the broke the camels back. Discovery Channel has some excellent specials all week. They have some computer enhanced film of what it was like for those poor bastards during the initial blast. God, you would feel sorry for anyone within 5 miles of ground zero. I think that is where the term "wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy" came from.

actually it was the otehr way around, the US offered an Army Surrender right before the drop on Hiroshima, The Japs said no, US dropped the bomb, the japs still said no, then dropped on Nagasaki then they said we unconditionally surrender

It is very cool to see man. We saw it several years ago. I'm not sure what is freakier..Standing over a ship of that size underwater being able to see it, or standing over an underwater grave knowing how many dead people are under you. It is a very wierd feeling and nobody talked at all when I was out there. It is something I will never forget. Very cool, especially seeing the oil coming up. They do submarine tours of it too.
