Out of curiosity, what are average prices for GTs around the nation? Up here in MN the average price is around 11-13k, but if you look occasionally one will pop up for under 10K.

Same, but depends on the miles too.
There is an 04 going for like 9k-10k
and even Cobras.

around hear it's like 8.5k to 13k

if you ask me the 13k is crazy seeing as for about 8 grand more you will be able to buy the brand new v6 that will be faster and more efficient with no mile and a warrenty

Yeah, but a V6 will NEVER be the same. I doubt you will EVER be able to get the sound out of a V8 with a V6. That and not everyone likes the newer models. I don't.

Why would you want it to sound like a V8 when it sounds like a god damn performance car. Haha. New V6 tone is very nice.

I would bet that on a tight course (like autocross) the v6 will be faster than the GT

it's a touch lighter and probably has just a bit better weight distribution not to mention is a stock situation 400hp is too much to handle on a tight course.

I don't much care if it sounds like a v8 or not have you even heard the new v6

plus the 2011 v6 will out perform almost any previous gen mustang ever built without a cobra on it

it will probably hang with a 2010 GT and destroy it in a corner

I bet it will sound decent just because of the Turbo that will be strapped to it.

I'm thinking nitrous

imagine a 2011 v6 running a 100 shot with good tune

I believe that the v6 has high compression and a 100 shot with a tune can be anywhere from 90 to 110 hp at the wheels plus about 150 ft lbs

so if you get one a drop about a grand on nitrous you have a car that will spank a Camaro SS and probably nose ahead of the GT

huh? No turbo. Its all motor. These motors are very high CR so it probably wont respond really well to much boost.

The new v6 is 305hp naturally aspirated.

For 11k to 13k you should be able to find an 01 Cobra.

Yea i wanted to trade mine in on an 03 but they would only give me 2800 after i told them that there is no way they could find a better kept 6 in the area, but i also have over 150k on it... I like the edge body style better than the newer ones ( well i like 2010, but i couldnt afford it anytime soon) I would rather get an 01-04 and put a little more into it to have some fun, then try to buy another in the future

Would still rather have the GT. If I'm going to spend money on a mustang, it's going to have a beefy engine and be fast. Not to say the new V6 won't be fast for what it is, but it's not 5.0. I still wouldn't trade my car in for a 2011 V6.

I would never downgrade to a v6 after having a v8.
