oh... and guys, it's windows xp unpatched with firefox 2 unpatched. I like my Operating Systems like I like my wine. Old, not produced anymore, just as likely to be vinegar as hooch, early and un-refined.
I hear you like your women like you like your shrimp, you like em' battered.

I don't know how to be cool. But king really made me mad. r3d edited my post in the interest of not having to get all mean and **** and hopes I'll take the hint.

you can stop contradicting yourself now....

Not a contradiction in any way. LOL There's nothing been said to or about me on this forum that upset me. I just laugh. It takes wayyyyyyyy more than someone I don't even know, on the internet at that, to upset or **** me off. Rest assured. I'm just too much of a laid back kinda guy. Sorry

I think he was talking about how you were making fun of King by saying he get's ***-hurt over something and makes a big deal about it. And then you make a big deal and rant about how he called you a d-bag lol. Either way, this thread is fun to read. Don't take this personal cr4sh, I'm not trying to get involved here haha

I think I'm ok. I don't visit questionable sites and I treat operating systems like underwear... they're to be replaced with a clean copy pretty frequently. I've also been a UNIX/Linux/Windows systems administrator for about 15 years now so I think I might know how to safely use windows on the intarwebz. It's really easy but there are thousands of methods and considerations and it tends to be a bit of a time investment to set up the initial config.
For example: You *COULD* set up your XP instance on a Linux box as a virtual machine within a virtualized AD domain (requires running a second virtual machine with a 2k/2k3 server confirgured with AD running). You set up in that AD domain a GPO that forces the client systems to effectively re-image themselves after you log off (it's actually a little less severe than that but close, you run a registry restore and a disk restore from a static backup of a known good image). This will effectively and reliably prevent anyone and anything from ever causing much lasting damage to you. You keep your documents on the Linux side and be smart about how you use your Linux box. Use both behind firewalls and stay off the russian **** sites.
Or, you could just run your XP instance on a Live CD like I often do. Use BART PE or something similar and have fun with it. You can't hack a CD rom.
