Just as long as u feel good with the deal, **** what every one else thinks. That being said u traded a low mile 04 to a high mile 03 even. All mods and xtra's a side how did u not drive to 2 or 3 other dealers around and I'm sure u could have done alot better, but like I said as long as ur happy with it.

You are never going to come out even when you go to a dealer they will always get a better deal.

Why?

because if it wasn't a good deal for them they would walk away they are never going to do anything that does not make them money

WN, if it was for sale on SVTP and it was in the area, I probably would of paid as much as 17k for it.

Not that mods count for anything, but rarity does.

350z's are a dime a dozen.

N.A.D.A Puts the Mach at 16k for the miles and the 350z at 14.5k for the miles

Lets be honest the mods on that car did matter. He had dyno numbers to prove them and serious things that a Mustang person would have paid for because it would be way cheaper than doing it yourself.

Someone not knowing **** about the car would say that's over priced at 17k most of us realize that's a hell of a deal.

get the mach back... get the mach back.... get the mach back.

That Z is gonna be just as expensive to maintain...especially with 72k miles vs. your mach's 25k miles or whatever it is.

I'm not worried about getting the car back or anything like that. I do miss the car but it wasn't my whole life. The car was putting me in a financial bind that would have gotten much worse the longer I kept it. It's not like I just woke up one day and said 'i think I'm tired of the mustang I'm going to trade it for a 350z'. I loved the car but it wasn't worth putting my life on hold for the next 4 years while I paid it off. I'm 18 years old and there's more important things at the moment. I've been out of school for 2 years and college was absolutely no option while I had the mustang. Plus I would like to move out of my parents house and get my own place, or even live in the dorms if I have to.

You guys can call me stupid all you want. A more serious issue arose and I did what I had to do to solve the problem I was getting myself into. My payments dropped, 5 months came off of the total time I have to make payments, insurance is significanty less and gas is much cheaper also. I can daily drive the Z year round in any weather too.

the Z is RWD and they suck ***** in the snow..just like a mustang. you may have gotten rid of payments, but you short changed yourself financially....seeing as how money was the motivator for getting rid of the mach, the trade doesnt make sense for you. only for the STEALership.

you could still get the mach back and sell it for more that a 72k mile Z is worth and come out ahead.

Practicality doesnt work here, cause u got a 350Z. those are no more practical than a mustang.

had you traded in the Mach, got a civic, or a 4cyl truck, or anything like that, and put the remaining cash in your pocket...that would follow along with the logic you are using to defend your decision.

and, you have already talked about modding the Z. Thought you were just trying to save $?

I agree with the lat part of Zigs ^^^. If you need to save money and got rid of the Mach for financial reasons, then trading it for a 350Z does not make sense. They don't even have a back seat. If I needed to get rid of the Mustang to get a cheaper car, I'd be riding around in an un-cool, compact, gas sipper with 14" hub caps and not spending anything on it except for gas and maintenance. It's just that the logic doesn't make sense, on top of it being not a good deal.

At reading this thread i had no prior knowledge about prices at first i thought it was an okay deal but i didnt know he had 18k in the car. However, if he couldnt afford it, he just couldnt afford it, it was either get the Z or loose the mach to repo. And once u cam a car theres no driveability to it, just a weekend machine on a nice hot summer day, thats all that car was good for. Or to keep as a collectors item. However i would have looked around more before i settled for that Z because it has high miles, those cars in my area generally go for 12 - 13k touring edition, 10k rebuilt. If they gave you some money or something or finished your financing off or something i couldve seen why. But still as long as your happy end result thats all that matters. If i had that mustang it wouldve either been sell it or buy a junky s10 to drive around every day. But you did what you had to do, you work a job and you pay for your own things so people should respect you for that.

Having a car that's got a more aggresive cam doesn't make it undrivable it will be louder and get worse gas milage but it will still work just fine. People DD supercharged cars all the time and the cam isn't going to affect the dravability that much

Ok i said my piece on this matter already. I loved Matt's car as much as everyone else. Whether we agree with his decision or not, whether we think it was a bad choice/deal or not... bottom line is, it was his car, his life, his situation, and his decision. He did what HE thought was best for him. In the end, the fact is, the mach's gone, done and did. He's still a member of this board, so how bout not bashing on him and his decision, i'm sure the day will come he'll have another 'stang.

Wow, who is guiding you in you decision making???

If your going to sell a car because of financial situations you don't trade it trade up for another car. WTF.

Especially one that is worth less when it comes down to how clean your car was.

Since you straight traded the mach for a 3shittyZ, Id sell that Z, buy something more practical for something realiable and cheap, and save the rest of the money for something better in the future.

I don't see how your payments or insurance would drop that much. Even though 350zs are a V6 and don't have that much power, they are still fairly pricey to insure especially at 18. You definitely got the raw end of the deal considering everything done to the Mach, plus a newer car with a lot less miles. If you're really happy than congrats, but you can't honestly think that car is going to drive any better in the snow and cost less to maintain then a Ford. The old 300Zs were expensive to maintain and I doubt the newer ones are really any better.

I traded for financial reasons and did not get a Z, I got a hybrid. My first tank got 46.7mpg. Almost 500 miles per 12.3 gallon tank FTW. My insurance only went up 22 bucks every six months because the Honda is newer. And it's not awful to drive in the snow! Great DD.

Yeah but your car is slow. haha. I don't mind getting 25mpg highway in a supercharged GT. Oh and my insurance is $59 a month.

Good deal, but my car is also paid off. So I could be saving for an even better car in a few years and also have the supercharged gt. So take that. haha
