Sorry for your loss.
Don't take this the wrong way but it sounds like you need to go to some shelters and find a friend that you can take home for the holidays. Nothing heals the sadness of losing a pet like giving one from a shelter a new home

sorry to hear it lance.
thats the thing that sucks about dogs, they just dont live long enough.
they never lie to you, cheat on you, insult you, they will always protect you, support you, love you, and forgive you.
if it wasnt for the whole licking thier butts thing they would be make great people.

Sorry to hear it bro. My dobie was put down because of severe congestive heart failure, she was only 8 yrs old. She held on as long as she could, but she was to the point of falling down anytime she stood up. It was a sad time. We had her put down, but you could see it in hers eye's, she wasn't happy anymore.. My wife took her to the vet for her last visit. He said it was time.
Then her 15 yr old feist, ( her dog before we even met). finally got so senile she didn't know where she was, blind, and deaf, she couldn't do anything but cry out. She couldn't be comforted any longer. We had to put puppy pads down for her because of incontinence. I had to take her to the vet for her last visit. My wife couldn't do it.
We all know we will out live our pets 5 times over most times, But it is just the life cycle of animals, love them as we may, they are ours to care for, and they are here to comfort us, All of our pets will see us again, there is a special place for them in Heaven.. waiting to greet us.. I hope..

go to pound, git 'nuther. Sad for sure but you kinda know about the short lifespan going in.
Note: Don't eat your old one, he's ruint. They'z tough as rawhide when you let em git real old. If'n yer gunna eat the new one make sure you do it before he's a year.

Man sorry to hear lance. Idk what I would do if i lost my dog. Getting him was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life and there is nothing like the bond between man and his best friend.
