COMMERCIAL DIVE SCHOOL. I've got a lot of checking to do and forms and applications to fill out but **** it. I'm tired of there being no work, so... I'm gonna go and get certified to be a commercial deep sea and salvage diver and underwater welder. Wish me luck!

That's what i hear... the school is just hella ****** expensive. All said and done, with all my equipment, tuition, books, medical exams, certifications, insurance, etc... its gonna cost prolly close to 30-35 grand. but i think it'll be worth the loans needed and time invested in the end.

That's really not that bad for schooling at a private institute.

What was the movie about an academy like this? Their final test was to disassemble something underwater? And the one guy took FOREVER?

I tried to talk my girlfriends brother into trying to get into some serious welding like underwater. I've always heard there is good money in underwater welding, and 30-35K isn't really that bad. One year at Baylor would have cost me about that much. Anyways, my girlfriend's brother is too much of a pot head and following in his father's footsteps to make anything of himself, so I wish you much better luck and make a great career of it. Hell, if you can do underwater welding you are probably certified to do any kind of welding, and that can be a good job too.

Yeah thats 40 grand for like 6 months. LOL But... that will get me deep water, scuba, topside/underwater cutting and welding certified. Plus that cost includes all my equipment as well. I'm gonna start filling out financial aid and student loan paperwork tonight to see if i can even get all the money i'll need.

*UPDATE*

So i talked to the admissions officer at school today. He said they got my admissions app, and i've been accepted!!! They're taking their holiday break today, and won't be back til the 4th, but he said the financial aid officer will be calling me after break to help me through the money end of things. Woot Woot!!! Now lets just hope i can qualify for enough grants and loans to cover the cost. Will keep updated as things move along. Wish me luck
