New Whip!
My Saturn wouldn't pass smog so it got the boot (trade in) and a newer better model put in its place.
First: No tripping on the whole Brand X thing. I don't like it any more than you do but Fucked-Over-Rebuilt-Dodge Motor Company wasn't offering 0% over 72 months.
Details: It's quick. Shifter is a little vague. Handles like it's cutting grooves in the road to guide itself, VERY solid and snappy handling. Came with 18x7 and 18x8 wheels, brembo 4 pot front brakes and vented disc rear single piston setup. Clutch is touchy as ****. Came with a pillar mounted boost/vacuum gauge that looks to be made by autometer. Runs 15psi at full tilt and makes 5psi at 1800rpm with a the throttle just barely open. Boost comes on fast as hell. Came with XM for a year and OnStar for a year free. Bluetooth, USB, accessory audio-in and plenty of steering wheel mounted controls. Oh yeah... and a sunroof. To top it all off the back seat is usable by adults and the trunk if ****** cavernous.
Overall it's a great car. All the fast I want and none of the headaches. Not going to mod it at all.. it's got every single thing done to it from the factory that I would have done. Chalk one up for chebby... they got this one pretty much right.
On a lesser note, the mustang will be sold sometime in the new year.

You know me, I'm a pretty level headed guy, but a 260hp FWD car "hanging with GT's in the straights" does not sound very plausible either.. I wonder how much power it actually puts to the ground.. 200 ish? IDK man, I guess it's possible, but doesn't seem very likely.

You're on the green stuff again aren't you? FWD top heavy 4 door "raping" a Mustang in the corners. You must be on stronger stuff then ever before.

read up on the car before you bash it. I think you need to have a toke this time.

I hope you have better luck with your Cobalt than my best friend had with hers. She got one the first year they were out (2005, I think), it was the regular 4 cylinder. She had to take it to the dealership almost 20 times for recurring transmission and electrical problems in the less than 2 years she owned it. The car had problems shifting into gears, the headlights would dim or just turn off while she was driving, the horn would blare and not turn off... she was always having problems with it.
She took care of her car, but I think it was built on a Friday or a hangover Monday. Whenever I drove it, I liked it. It was pretty nice and rode really well.
I had a friend that had a Cobalt SS that ran low 12's in the 1/4. He upgraded the clutch, supercharger and a whole bunch of other ****. It was a pretty bad little bitch and looked good, too. He didn't rice it out. Kept it pretty much stock on the outside except for smoking the headlights/tails and putting some wheels on it.

I mean, it's a Cobalt.. With a turbo.. and some suspension stuff.. Oh and the battery is in the trunk. To me it's kind of like buying an SRT-4 neon, you can call it an SRT-4 instead of a neon, but guess what?.. It's still a Neon.
(I was watching pass time the other day and they had two kids on there with SRT-4 Neon's and when they asked them what they were driving both of them just said SRT-4's and had taken the Neon name off of the trunks of their cars. LOL)

Yet, I'm sure he wouldn't be a traitor if he had gotten a Corvette.

It corners better than any stock car I've driven short of M3's and Vettes. The thing is seriously better in a corner than I am so far. And yeah... it's pretty close on power and weighs 500lbs less than a mustang so I'll bet it'll give a stock stang a run for its money.

I never get to drive the mustang and it's a big asset waiting to be liquidated to eliminate a modest chunk of debt. With that debt gone I can go out and buy a 2011 Boss in a year and have plenty of car and a helluva lot more money to mess with.
Anyone that wants to give 13K for the stang can have it. I'll even have it tuned for ya.

Also, my best friend is one of those who if she didn't have bad luck, she'd have no luck at all, so it honestly didn't surprise me with all the problems she had with her Cobalt.

Cool man. Let me know how much and I'll see what I can do. The front tires on mine are new and the rears still have some life on them.

That'd be sweet...three members of this board having the same set of wheels

It is, but not many people would pay for a modified-to-the-hilt streetable racecar. When you modify, you never get out what you put in.
