Choose my FREE car
Let's say you got a FREE car, but your options were completely limited to JUST the following....no exceptions. You can't change you mind or sell it after you buy it.....you must drive it for between 2 or 3 years.
1 - 2010 Ford Fusion SE (4 cyl)
2 - 2010 Ford Escpae XLT (cycl two wheel drive)
So, help me choose my FREE car:

haven driven both of them more than once. I would go with the Fusion. They both drive well but I like the styling of the fusion a lot better and the Escape tends to be more of a chick car. Plus the Fusion gets better gas mileage.

Two kids....but I have other cars. However, I can use all I want. I won't be getting rid of my "family" hauler, but I would want to drive it for long trips if I wanted to. I think either car would be equal in that regards.

Fact is, both cars are weak on the power side...neither is good, but that is not the intended purpose. I would never buy either if it were my money, but this is not my money.
Yes....as someone guessed...it is a company car. We had been using much larger Chryslers, but the entire program has been downgraded. We are now using just Fords and only cars with 4 cylinders. My previous cars have been Chargers and Magnums. Had it been time for a car a year ago, due to my grade, I would have gotten a 300. It is a sign of the times....I ain't complaining....just glad to have one. It is a nice perk.

Ok since gas milage and performance are basicly a non issue here. I vote for the Escape. I say this because of ergonomics. Getting into and out of a smaller car tends to be a hastle, even with me and my mustang I have the same issues in day to day life. I think in the long run you would be much more comfortable with the Escape. Just my .02 cents worth anyway.

I do like the seating position of the Escape better...the Fusion feels like you are sitting on the floor and a bit go-cart ish.
Seems like the younger folks seem to like the Fusion. When I talk to the older guys, they all say Escape.
I really like the looks of the Fusion over the Escape, but an econo-box is an econo-box. I would choose the Escape 4WD with a 6 over a Fusion with a 6 as I think it would be a better fit in my life. Even if I was chosing the Escape as a 4cyl with 4wd, I would take it over a Fusion with a 4 banger. But as is, that is not an option.
I can also upgrade to a Flex or a Volvo S40 with a few grand out of pocket. I am not a big fan of paying for upgrades on a company car. If you leave the job, you don't get your money back.

If you are not going to have to pay for either car and a not really going to like either option I would say get the escape cause if some ******* hits you the escape will probably take a hit better than the fusion
on a side note my parents have an older 2wd v6 escape an I have always kinda liked it

Well the Escape is here and I really like it. Drives great and a lot more peppy then I thought it would be. All in all....totally happy. It does what it is supposed to do and free to own and free to operate.
