Kicking Ass at a Car Show!

Kicking *** at a Car Show!
I went to my first 'real' antique and custom car and truck show last weekend. I took the day before off of work so I could detail my car. I spent 13 hours last Friday and 3 hours Saturday morning getting the car ready. After a wash, claybar, wash, some polish, glaze and wax, Spook was ready and shining like a black diamond in the sunlight. I cleaned every spot I could reach, both comfortably and uncomfortably. The trunk hinges were sons of bitches.
When I arrived at the show Saturday morning and saw some of the cars there, I honestly felt that I didn't have a chance. There were so many beautiful and I mean absolutely ******* beautiful cars. To my astonishment, I was the one and only Mustang made after the year 1993! I parked next to a gorgeous, immaculate orange '69 Camaro and instantly, the guy who owned it started talking to me and asked me 'if I drove my husband's car to the show'. Wrong thing to ask there, buddy.
I received a lot of comments on the car. The only bad thing I got was some older guy who walked up to my car and started talking **** because it is an automatic. After I ripped him a new one for a minute, I never saw him again. ******* didn't walk back down the row I was on, anyway.
There were 116 cars and they gave out 20 trophies. 15 'best of show' and 5 'best of show' for paint, interior, engine, and two others that I can't remember.
I couldn't believe it, but I won one of the 15 'best of show' trophies! I was excited because I literally wasn't expecting anything... but I must admit that Spooky was looking sexy as hell. It was good to come home with something because I didn't feel like I busted my *** doing all that work for nothing except for the sunburn I came home with. **** sunburns.
Sorry I don't have any pictures of the show. I forgot to bring my camera along with sunscreen. The car still looks the same as it did then, because I put a cover over it when I got home. I'll try to get some pictures up this weekend so you guys can see the trophy and Spooky with his new grille.
I miss you guys. Hopefully, my internet at home will be sorted out soon. I just wanted to get on while I had a chance at work inbetween people being over my shoulder and having an assload of work to do.

Bitch, I'll kill you with my death stare from here all the way to California!
Thanks, guys. I can at least get pictures of the trophy tonight, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow for the car pictures.

Maybe Val could start selling little keychains that have pre-recorded messages and insults on them. haha

Hell yeah. Kind of like those buttons they sell in Spencer's that have the insults.

Thank you!
Well, I have taken him to other shows before, just not judged ones. This was my first 'real' car show in that sense.
And I damn sure would have been a shitstorm in their worst nightmare! Seriously, if I didn't win anything, I wouldn't have been pissed. Like I said, there were some absolutely beautiful cars there. Wouldn't have bothered me to lose to them.
I think I was the only woman who actually owned a car that was in the show and the youngest person as well. I was damn sure the only woman out there wiping a car down. The rest of the women I saw were just sitting next to their husbands... who were wearing shirts of the car/manufacturer of the car, so I could tell whose car it was.

Congrats Val!! You and your car certainly deserve it. Would like to see some pics.
I've gone to a few shows and I love the guys that ask "Who does your work", since **** totally impair your ability to use tools!!
Still want to see the trophy.

Cograts Val, I'm glad after all the work you've done Spook finally pulled out a win to show it back.
Now, about those keychains....I'd be the first person to take an order of twenty lol.

I have given so many people a piece of my mind. It's no wonder why I seem to have none of it left.
I should make those keychains. I know I'd have fun doing it. I'd have to carry about a tape recorder everywhere so I can catch myself when I was unloading hell on someone.

Sucks that you couldn't go to the show. Maybe you'll be able to make it next time.
I wasn't home to get pictures this weekend. I didn't get home until 11pm Saturday night and I had to go to a wedding yesterday. I ******* hate that it gets dark so damn early now.
Trophy pictures will come tonight.

Congrats on the trophy girl. Some of those car shows are really hard to win anything at all. Even a small rock in the tire tread will eliminate you. I always try to keep my car looking as clean as possible, but when it's a DD it gets very hard to keep "Car Show" clean. My car is so dirty right now I'm embarassed to drive it. But I haven't had a whole day to do what needs to be done. I just try to get by with a quick wash, and hope a car show doesn't pop up and demand my presence. LOL..

Thank you, Amie!
I took pictures of my trophy last night and brought the camera to work to upload them, but the damn computer won't recognize my camera. I'm going to try my dad's computer with the DSL instead of the wireless when I get home. Hopefully, that **** will work.

Better late than ******* never! Here is a picture of my trophy, along with portions of my lovely DVD collection! I know I'm no photographer. That's what Ryan is for.
Only thing that sucks about it is that the Sunshine State Camaro Club or something was one of the sponsors, so there is a Camaro at the top of the trophy. It could have been worse. They could have had a Civic club sponsor the event and then I'd have a ******* ricer at the top of my trophy, is the way I look at it.
Ryan, if you let me shrink you so I can carry you around in my pocket and take pictures for me, I'll let you shrink me so you can have me verbally assault people for you! Deal?
