Default What to do???

So a buddy of mine calls me today, told me he ran into a guy today looking for a mustang. He's got a 2001 Lightning with 80k miles. My car has 53k on it. I went n looked at the truck and drove it. It's very clean and is mechanically sound. He's wanting $12,500 for his truck. I asked if he'd trade straight up, and he said considering the work thats been done to my car, he would consinder it. I really love my car, but i've always wanted a lightning. If he comes back n says he'll trade straight up, should i do it?

I say keep your car. Do you really have a need for a truck?

LOL no i've just always been in love with the lightning. I'm going down to talk to him in the morning about it all. I just got off the phone and he said he probably wouldn't trade straight up.

Yeah, i'm leaning towards keeping my car kinda too. I REALLY love my car. If he was willing to trade straight up, i might be a lil more likely to do it, but to give up my car plus cash for a higher mileage vehicle... eh

The only reason I see for trading is the fact that the truck can be easily modded and make big power, and that it has a bed. But it cost money to mod (KB), and you might not need a truck. If I needed a truck I'd just go buy a old cheap F-150.

Its a reallly tough decision, in my area i would do it, but then again the MPG is horrible. Your bullitt is nice, im sure his lightning is nice but its all a matter, in the long run that lightnings gonna be expensive. Bullitts are rare and thats a plus. However whatever decision you make, dont give boot.

I think you made the right choice, those trucks are dangerous. Last year in Georgia 3 people drown in a pickup. The truck was on state route 610 and drove off of a bridge and into the river. The driver and passenger in the cab escaped without injury. The 3 passengers in the bed of the truck drown because they could'nt get the tailgate open. Film @ 11. Very sad story.

neither really. Cars these days don't hold their value.

There is no such thing as a "rare" car anymore, unless you're talking about a Veyron or something like an SSC Aero. If I had to guess though, I'd say that the Lightning will be worth slightly more 50 years from now.

Doesn't matter anyway, we're all gonna die in 2012 anyway right?
