Default Dyno time

Well, the car has been dropped off to finally get tuned with the supercharger on it. Dropped it off at 8:30 and I've been sitting at Starbucks doing some work waiting. Getting a little anxious and a little nervous. So far no calls to say anything has happened, so I guess that's a good sign. Just want to be done with this and experience the boost. Numbers will be put up as soon as I get home.

Betting pool starts here. Buy-in is 1 buck to the winner. Closest without going over wins.

I'm betting on 378hp/367tq to the tires. $1 committed to the winner.

Hard to guess numbers without knowing pulley size he is running...plus the boost he loses through the intercooler...If I had to guess I would guess 350-370 range if he is making around 8lbs of boost.

well after hours of waiting I got the car back. Disappointed in the numbers. I dont know if Im leaking boost somewhere or if the imtercooler is really eating up that much boost, but Im only making 5lbs. Numbers are 330/341. Car does pull pretty good though and runs smooth. Not too shabby for a car with 130,000 miles on it I guess.

Oh and Im running a 3.33 pulley stock vortech intake.

what are the dimensions of your intercooler and how many cores does it have?

If you do have a V-1 vortech they dont make boost like a V-2 does so you have to run smaller pulley's to keep up with the V-2's.

i thought that pulley wouldnt make too much boost for ya...i figured it would peak around 7 not 5. that sucks man, step down to a 3.1 and run 8-9 psi. then get a 3.5 or 4 inch powerpipe and run 10 psi.

MCMOTORSPORTS had to go to a 3.2 pulley and powerpipe to get 10 psi out his non-intercooled V-1 blower back when he had the mustang and vortech.

Yeah thats what I thought...I know the v1 is not as efficient as the v2. With that intercooler I am sure u lost 2-3 psi...get a smaller pulley and a powerpipe and get a retune and you should see 8psi and gain about 30-40hp

krenogin wins. Please post a paypal addy in the format of "address aht somedomain dawt cawm" so it's hard for spam bots to read.

Forgot you were using a v1. Let's get a 3.1 pulley on it and see if that does the trick. Right now your car should be still sick fast. Don't be too disappointed. The tq is what counts and it's pretty damned high. You about ready for that 5.4 swap now?

The tuner was recommendin.g me to go down to the 3.1 pulley. I'll have to look up the dimensions on the intercooler. I figure I'll be good like this for a few months.

R3D, once I have some extra money to start spending, then I'll start looking into the 5.4 swap. Or if the engine blows up first. haha
