So what is the deal with these things, they have these big *** hard drives. Are there hacks for this where i can download games to it?

What are some of the "Non Intended" uses you can get with this bad boy?

from what i know, you can install a different operating system on those things. you can also copy games to the HDD to run them, i believe some games require it (could be wrong on that).

Pretty much (besides played pirated games) everything yuo can think of that would be non intended, is actually intended. Like King said, installing another OS, but that's a feature of PS3 :\

I put movies I download from torrents on mine. It works great.

You can download blu-ray rips, but the quality will be awful, unfortunately
It won't look like blu-ray quality at all, so don't waste your time. What I do is get on Vuze and download whatever movie I want. There's an option to transcode for PS3, I do that. Then I get on my PS3 and search for a media server in the video section of the XMB. It will detect Vuze and I can stream/save it to my HDD just like that.

I download Blu Ray rips all the time in WMV format to play on my Xbox and the quality is just like watching a Blu Ray. Not sure what quality movies you are downloading, but I have about 65 of them and they all look wonderful. Watching on a 52" Samsung 1080p tv too.

I use newsgroups. I either use Easynews or NZBmatrix.

Never have any viruses with my newsgroups. If it detects a virus with the file, it won't download. I pay $15 a month for Easynews cause it's fast and easy to use plus I get 30gigs of space a month with rollover. NZBmatrix is nice too since it's free and the downloaded I use is free as well. I've downloaded some off torrents before, but they seem to be hit or miss and take a long time to download.

yeah, torrents arent reliable for speed BUT they are free. and at any given time the seeders can drop out leaving u with an incomplete file.
