Just goes to show, pick your company carefully.. My company writes you a check on the spot (from the adjuster's car) for the base value then we go back and work with the client for an agreed value, loan payoff etc.

its sad that you have to fight for something that you not only pay for, but is required by law to have. I think everyone would be better off just saving the money they wouldve spent on insurance. But my mothers in your boat, except she got a rental for a whole 7 days, when contract said 30 days or 900$ which came first. Weve been arguing with them forever now. They said we pay medical bills and give u 2.4k to get started on a new car, wait a minute. XD yeah 2.4k for a 2002 olds aurora that bluebooks for 8k+. Its retarted, you have to pick a good known insurance or else ur gonna get done shitty and have to get a lawyer. But we consumers are sucked into this because of laws. Whatever you do, dont take what they offer, and keep going for what its worth. This guy at a body shop was telling us how he did a insurance company once. He owns his own wrecker service, so he sat the car he wrecked on his lot, and charged them 25 a day, till they paid him the blue book. SO he got his blue book plus 25 a day for 2 months. after they settled. its pretty nice the way you can bind them in places. But eventually they will start sending you rude mail, so far theyve cursed our attourney and the doctor. Its crazy, good luck.

If I ever get into a wreck that's not my fault. I'm gonna get an ambulance, and a dollar collar, and a lawyer, I'm gonna have so many back and neck problems that there's no way I will ever be able to function as a normal Human being working in a factory again.. I'm gonna get that guy from F. Scott Ferron, or whoever Robert Vaugn is pretending to be and " Tell them You mean Business" Show up in court in a wheelchair and say, I hurt all the time all over.. My pain and suffering is worth at least a Kazillion Dollars..

That's how it was when I totalled my GTO. Took them over a week to get someone out there to look at the car and almost a month to cut a check.
Call them and pester the hell out of them. That's what I did.

I didn't like the GTO as much as I like my Mustang, though. The only thing it had on the 'Stang was that it was faster. I wouldn't mind having one of each car in my driveway, though.

why are insurance companies being so crappy when were required by law to have one? well, i guess they decide they can be cheap and get as much money from us as they can since were required to have insurance.

yea they're the biggest legal fraud going! it's amazing how you can pay your dues on time everytime for years and years and years. But one little fender bender they want to drop you, raise your rates and everything. yet when they screw up our policies we can't lower our rates because of their "accident".
Also, i kno its different then auto insurance, but when FL had those bad hurricanes a few years back, when like half of the state was in shambles the insurance companies wanted to drop their policies and head north in a hurry! gotta love that customer service. it's all well and good when there's no claims going out and the money is flowing in!
