You're partially right. Grades only REALLY mean something in school or college. However, they are usually a fairly good indicator of intelligence both during those times and later on in life. The only people who say that “grades can only take you so far” are people who probably made shitty grades in the first place and just use that as a phrase to make themselves feel better.

The troops that show up in hours notice have training to kill, not save. Really, the coast guard were the only folks trained for that sort of catastrophe, and they darned near used everybody in the coast guard to save who they did.

I bet he will be able to spell REJECTED! This stuff is for real, I have heard about this starting to happen more and more, I think 20/20 or dateline did a show on it once.
