I've never heard a Kanye song that I know of, either. Which probably means that if I did hear it, it was mediocre enough for me to forget it right away. Who gives a damn if someone has "major records with his album and concert sales"? All kinds of shitty bands sell shitty albums and go on shitty tours. Doesn't always mean they're good bands/artists.

As far as the "N" word goes, how can it be taken seriously when the biggest offenders of the word are the people it's referencing? If you know what the **** diversity even means, then why do you have such a hard time accepting the fact that some people just don't like Kanye West or his music? Some people get famous for stupid and wrong reasons. Hell, look at Hitler. He was 'famous for a reason and people liked him'. He was a popular person. So by your "since he was famous and a lot of people liked him" logic, that means he was a good person.

It doesn't matter if you support his antics or not. How are you supporting that his music isn't mediocre? By your own opinion? Wow, I can't wait to get some of that support.


Again, what in the hell makes you think that the amount of albums an artist or band has sold is what validates their worth? I can think of a lot of different artists that don't sell as much as Kanye does. It doesn't discredit their work. It just means that they aren't necessarily as popular. Popularity is what sells albums in the music world. There are those bands that of course break the mold and sell music that really is good, but Kanye West is a good example of most people following a trend and going with what is popular. Popular does not always equate to good.

WN doesn't think he's cool for using that word. What is wrong with him stating his opinion? I'm sure he doesn't use that word in everyday life, but even if he does, what business is it of yours? If you're crying about the context in which he used, that is purely your interpretation. Why not ask WN how he meant to use it, instead of automatically assuming he meant it in an ignorant way, which he didn't.

I never said that I have never heard one. I said that might have, but I wasn't aware of it at the time. Which means that if I did hear it, it was mediocre and boring enough for me to immediately forget about it. Therefore, that's what makes him mediocre to ME. There are a lot of bands I haven't heard in my life, but I won't automatically deem them as mediocre just because I haven't heard them. With as big of a ******** as Kanye is, I don't want to listen to his music, anyway. I won't be contributing to his wealth.

And since you seem to lack the ability to type a proper sentence, I am confused by your "highest selling concert ticket" comment. Are you basically saying that if Metallica was having a concert and Kanye was having a concert, you'd go see Kanye instead? If that's the case, good for you, Einstein. Of course you'd go see the artist you liked more.

 

In his genre he is very good at what he does. He is obviously above average if hes selling albums and making millions of dollars. Hes also a very good producer. To sit here and say he isn't good is ridiculous.

Sure hes a dick, and a little strange, but big deal. No ones perfect.

 

He might be good at what he does in his genre, but once again, just because someone sells albums and makes millions of dollars does not mean they are 'above average'. Remember the Spice Girls? Yeah, they sold an assload of records, made millions of dollars and they ******* sucked.

He's selling albums and making millions of dollars because he has something that some people like, obviously. I can't say he isn't good or bad because I don't think I've heard any of his songs before. But just because you and a few others may like him, that doesn't mean that others can't think he's mediocre.

All this thread boils down to is people's opinions. Some might think he's great, others might think he sucks, and others might just think he's okay. Nothing ridiculous about that.

The facts you are stating are based upon opinion. Honestly the Spice Girls sucked in my eyes, but the writers and producers behind them are geniuses. Also, they were well above average when it came to looks, and at least some sort of singing talent.


Not that money is everything in life, but if your making millions, while everyone else is making average wages, you've done something.
