Default New Car Opinions

Hey all Ive been gone for a while got a bike so I have been on the bike forums a lot and recently started to check up on the good old mustang forums.. I'm thinking about getting rid of the stang for work related and other issues and just wanted to get your opinion on the Jeep Grand cherokee SRT-8 I love the looks of that car and it would be good for the new england winters but im not too sure about buying a chrysler product.. I was thinking buying a set of winter wheels and tires and be able to swap them on and off between the factory 20 inchers that come with it.. does anyone own a jeep or chrysler car?

there is a reason Ford is making money again, while GM and chrysler are still in bankrupcy.

I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the family. It has the 5.7 hemi and hauls serious ***. The 6.1 in the SRT is downright wicked! our last GC was a 1999 and it had a faulty transmission. we are doing everything we can to prevent transmission problems on the new one.

I have a Pacifica and have probably had 15 Chryslers. All of them have had trany work at one time or another. My Pacifica had the TC replaced at 6,000 miles - lol

I think the SRT-8 is the dumbest car on the road. Every time I see one I think the guy driving it is a moron. Seriously, who buys an SUV with this much power, that you can't use to tow? I also think that these things are lilkey maint headaches....they are too different then stock and Chrysler did not make many of them. The fuel economy is also horrible. But hey, that's just me.

If you want a G. Cherokee, the standard Hemi is great and will lilkey be a lot less trouble-free.

This is probably comparing apples to oranges, but my wifes 02 Concorde is a great car. No real big issues except for a window seal that got replaced and a service check engine light that comes on and off, they can't figure it out cause it won't come on when they have it.

Radio died, they replaced it. Also had some wicked shimmy at anything over 45 miles per hour. Got her some new rubbers and drives great now.

IMHO, Chrysler has an excellent warranty because everything was covered.

Even though the 02 Concorde was a final production year, it's still a great car, escpecially on long trips.
