Default psp go

anyone know much about this. saw a pic of this thing on the net. i heard something about a psp go when i was skimming the channels and looked at the e3-09 coverage on g4tv. looks pretty neat. lots smaller. i might have went with this thing if it was around when i got my ipod touch. it was between that and a psp. they were just a whole lot larger at the time.

The PSP-GO will drop on October 1st. It is a much more compact (flatter/not as bulky, a little bigger than the iPhone/iTouch) and I it features a newly designed 3.8'' "ultra-crisp" screen (noticeably higher quality than the original and 3000 versions of the PSP).

It will also ditch the Universal Media Disc (UMD) feature that original and PSP-3000's had to run games with. Instead, all games will be run off of a mini-digital card (probably similar to the pro-stick duo memory stick from the original PSPs). And it will also feature 16 gigabite flash memory...so they're pretty much trying to stick it to the DS, and iTouch which are it's main competitors. Another neat feature is it's bluetooth connectability so that users can connect headsets and whatnot to and use skype and such. Overall looks like a kickbutt machine. Not quite next-gen, but a noticeable improvement from the original and 3000 versions of the PSP.

You can get all of that info here too:

It's actually dropping onto shelves the same day as Gran Turismo, and it will become the first GT game ever having gone hand-held. If you look up the GT-PSP gameplay videos, you can tell that there is a noticeable difference in image quality.

yeah...I have a PSP 2, and it sucks. Graphics are terrible, everything about it sucks pretty much. Although I personally am looking forward to the PSP-GO because I go on a lot of roadtrips where I am not the driver and it's been that way since I was very little so I've grown up with handhelds...ever since the first gen Gameboy bricks. So I'm really optimistic about this new-toy.

Yes the gamegear was awesome. Anyways, back to the PSP Go. I believe the cost will be around $250 or so and they still haven't announced how they'll handle the UMDs from the older PSP. I won't be getting one as I have no need for it, but Microsoft has been designing a hand held thats suppose to be pretty sweet. It won't be a phone, but will have stuff that no other hand held has had and they are integrating all their Live stuff to it. You'll be able to download a xbox live arcade game on your xbox and then play it on the hand held.

Sweet. I didn't realize microsoft was getting one together. I miss my xbox1. I've got a 360 but it always overheats. My old xbox I modified and had a sh*t load of games and movies stored on my hard drive. Only bad thing about it was the size. But on topic. I'm looking toward checking out the psp go when it comes out.

I have the original PSP and I dig it. I usually only play it when I'm on the road and not driving since I have an xbox 360 and Wii, but I probably won't be getting the new PSP. There is enough entertainment on my iphone that I don't need the psp go.

You about hit the nail on the head with the pricing...it will be listed in stores at $249. As for how they will handle older UMDs from the original PSP, most (as in around 85-90% of the original games will be listed for sale and download through PSN (the PlayStation Network).

So whatever happened to going on a road trip and just looking at the countryside as you ride along.. I guess I'm old, old school. Before I quit smoking pot and stuff I'd be the designated doobie roller. Now that I'm married man I just pick the different voices for Tom Tom, and point out hot rods in driveways..
