Forza 3

Hahaha, yes it is. I believe it's the LS7 though. Isn't it out of the ZO6? Either way it's ridiculous. King you definitely need to pick up a used copy or something. I'm sure you can find it for 20-30 bucks or so at a store.
Here's some actual in game footage. Think how great it will look in HD.

It's way better than Gran Turismo. It's still a racing simulator, but controls much better. In Gran Turismo it was almost impossible to drive a 800hp car, but in Forza you can, though it takes some skill. If you're looking for an actual real racing game, then Forza is the way to go. Dirt, NFS, Grid and all those are fun, but they aren't the real thing and don't have the modding capabilites like Forza. Go rent it and give it a shot. You will start off as a slow car, but you get to gradually work your way up and really get the hang of the game.

I'll give it a shot sometime I'm sure, but I was not very impressed with the trailers. But I looked up the GT5 teaser from E3 and they've finally added Nascar (which is a total sell point for me). I think I also read somewhere that Nascar has gone exclusive to the Sony branch...bad move for Nascar, good for me. Although anything is better than EA.

Forza is light years better than any GT game, ever. You should really be kicked in the nads for not having it.. I'm sure you can get it for $20 @ Gamestop.
All that the GT series has going for it is the massive amount of cars, but who really wants to drive a model t in a racing game? Seriously.
My Cobra R has so much power that it just burns through every gear.. Not really much of a race car, but I can burn the tires off of it doing 150+ shifting into 6th.. lmao
I'm probably alone in this, but I actually preferred the original Forza over Forza 2, that's probably why I'm so excited for 3 to come out. Gonna be Shaweet!

How were you not impressed with the trailers? What kind of qualities do you look for in a racing game?

They look plain. The trailers didn't display a very impressive damage or physics model, I think. The customation is all fun and whatnot...but I think this game will lack in AI competitiveness, something that Grid and the GT series haven't really run into as much (Grid did a little, but if you set it on it's hardest setting it gets tough at some tracks). Although it's graphically appealing, I don't know if it will have enough of a performance perk for it to worth all of this hype. What I like about Codemaster's Grid game is that it's both graphically appealing, performance savvy and is just an overall great game.
And about Nascar, I'm just a Nascar fan. You wouldn't understand it unless you've seen it live once or twice. There is a lot more going on than just cars going around in circles, so quit being ignorant about it.

And I wasn't taking a crack at you about liking Nascar. I've watched Nascar and I have a friend who races in a low division of Nascar. I respect the drivers (for the most part), but I don't find driving in a big circle very appealing. Yes they do drive on a few regular tracks, one being about 2 hours from me, but it's still boring. Just like Indy Car is when they drive in a circle.

Nascar has more side by side racing. And a lot more aero-unpredictability than the Indy cars. Not much of an argument on my side because like I said you sort of have to have been to a race and have seen everything that goes on on a raceday to have a respect for it. Granted, it's not for everybody...and I too wish they did more circuit/road-course races, but you get what you get.
But back to the game:
Like I said, I'll have to give it a try sometime to make an informed decision on how it really is. But I'll tell you, after looking up more on GT5 the more I'm looking forward to it.
Has anybody tried the prologue?

im so excited for the rewind feature, i beat forza 2 100%, got all the gamerscore, and i had to do the mx5 miata endurance race twice because i blew(well as fast as a factory miata can blow) past the pits on shitty tires and crashed and had to limp my way around the track and i got passed
