I've heard bad and good experiences about wisdom teeth being pulled out. I still need mine out.

Time to pull the N64 out of the closet, lol.

Same here. I really want mine taken out, but I am a wiener when it comes to any type of pain.

I do want to pull my N64 out of the closet... and play Conker's Bad Fur Day!

i have only taken 1 vicodin since i got out of the place @ 11. slightly swollen jaw but no swollen cheeks. pain is like a dull annoyance. from the moment i was put under till i was done 15 mins passed by.

doc said my teeth were probably the easiest he has ever done.

for anyone who needs them out...get them out as soon as you can because the longer you wait, the deeper the roots will grow, and eventually attach to you jaw bone. thats when it is bad. mine were not even rooted so all they did was make an incision pop the tooth out and sew me up.

And another thing as you get older even a stitch or 2 will take longer to heal.

I have 2 more wisdom teeth in me and my dentist tells me unless they are hurting you leave em be. Once I had my left side wisdom teeth out it made room for all my other teeth's to line up and be happy as a group.. But the wisdom teeth are way back there and hard to keep a good cleaning.

I had mine pulled in January of '07. Had to get it done since I planned on eventually getting braces. Even though it cost more, I had them put me out. I had no desire to be awake during that procedure. After it was done, I was in an out of consciousness for the next few hours. After a while I stopped trying to stay awake and took a nice long nap. By the next day I was fine though.

I had mine pulled 8 or 9 years ago with just some local and valium. But there was no cutting or stitching, dentist said they pretty much jumped out. But I did get 3 days of sitting on my *** and 10 of no PT!!! Military will know what I mean.

Make sure you keep it clean and moist to keep out infection and prevent dry socket. Post up some pics too, we are some morbid sob's.

haha...pics wouldnt really show the swelling. i gained a lot of weight this school year and the chubbiness in my face covers up the swelling. and i have no bruising.

i used to weigh 210lbs and now i weigh 233. i need to get back down to 195 lol.

so today was the worst day of them all. i woke up in excruciating pain this morning at 4.15 am..took 1.5 tablets of percocet. that got me started but was the day went on, the pain got worse and worse. i ended up falling asleep at Noon with an ice pack, then switched to a heated pad, than back to a ice pack. i took an 8 hour nap. lol.

still in pain...ugh..hopefully its better tomorrow.

Make sure you take your pain medication regularly, there is no reason not to take it. The more you hurt the worse it is for your healing. Also keep an ice pack on it as much as possible. When I got mine out, I don't think there was much pain, but I only kept an ice pack on for the first day and after that I got swollen pretty bad.

haha I remember when I got my wisdom teeth removed, it actually wasn't that bad for me, I barely used the medicine, but it's probably from having braces my mouth had built up a bit of pain tolerance. I do recall that first day or so being awesome from being knocked out, some of the best sleep/rest ever!!! The worst part of the whole ordeal was not being able to eat, that sucked! lol.

yea, i take my meds every 4 to 6 hours. and then some ibuprofen inbetween to help a lil more. i usually have an ice pack or some frozen veggies wrapped around my mouth..

i just took a shower and my swelling has gone down tremendously. i should be good to go by monday.

I was more pissed about not being able to eat anything solid. I don't think I've had a bowl of Campbells soup since I did my wisdom teeth...and that was over 3 years ago.

Keep moving!! It will keep the swelling and inflammation down and thus help with the pain. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and don't be afraid of the pain meds, it is easier to keep pain down than to beat it down.

I had mine out in 7th grade, that was a lot of fun. Had braces in 4th grade too, I had an early start on that whole deal. I actually found that advil gel caps work 100 times better than any of the pain meds they gave me. The advil took absolutely every bit of the pain away, it was nice. At times I even forgot I had just had them out, until I felt my HUGE swollen cheeks.

I had mine taken out in the late 90's. I had all 4 pulled at once so I didn't have to worry about it later. It didn't hurt too bad, but not being able to eat or take a good drag of a cigarette killed me. Make sure not to get a dry socket! One of my buddies got that and it seemed to be really painful. I cheated and ate Andy-cap hot fries because they kind of melted in the mouth and they weren't soup!
