Pontiac.....
With GM cutting pontiac from thier lineup, do you think pontiacs will go down in price? I'm thinking of buying me a new car, and if I can get a good deal on one, i'd definately would jump on one.

probably depends on the model. while the more desirable G8s and GTOs might go up..grand ams and such might go down.

I can't believe they would cut the Pontiac, and keep the Buick.. I guess a lot of older people want a Buick. But I thought the G8's and at least the G6's would do ok. Sad to here it. Pontiac paved the way for muscle cars IMHO..

Thats what I think. Since all of the car companies are supposed to be making more fuel efficent vehicles I don't see how chevy can get rid of the most fuel efficent cars they make.

I could see them taking the Solstice, but they won't be taking the G8. Chevy already has two V8 powered sports cars, they can't afford to sacrifice the overall fuel mileage of another 8 cylender. Remember, they have to have an overall EPA of something like 35mpg by 2012 or something like that.

I miss the hell out of my GTO. I saw one at a local show that looked almost exactly like mine and I swear I must have went back to visit it like 6 times, haha.
Mine looked like this except it was an automatic and it was an '05, so it didn't have the black plastic 'GTO' bumper on the back. It just had an extended lower bumper that said 'GTO' on it.

Sorry, for your concerns.. Looks trump "power" anyday. Therefore..
Spook > GTslO

Its not that much heavier. Only like 200lbs or so, plus an LS2 has way more potential. Of course if and when I do get one, I'll still have my stang anyways.

I have WOT'd him, just not the way I think you guys mean WOT. I haven't literally stomped it down, but I've definitely gotten on it. I'm scared to stomp that bitch down, to tell you the truth. It gets squirrely just pulling out of my street on a dry road that's just with me getting on it a little bit.

No, my Mustang could not hang with a GTO plain and simple. Trust me. I had a GTO, so I know how they drive and it would spank my GT either right off the line or soon after. I could probably hang until maybe 3rd gear or so, but that's it.

GTO FTW! I love those things. That burnt orange is great.
The hubby works for Pontiac/Chevy/GMC. He was talking about this yesterday. He works for the Pontiac part alot of the time. He was saying it would make more sense for them to drop GMC line and just keep producing Pontiac and Chevy...

I still heavily struggle with myself as to whether or not to put my Mustang back to stock and trade it in for an '05 or an '06 GTO everytime I find one I like.

It's taking everything I have not to trade in for an '05-'09 GT! I love Spook!
I'm torn between keeping my body style and finding a GT or going for the '05-'09. IDK. It probably won't be for awhile anyway...

I don't get the appeal of the GTO. I've seen better looking Grand Prix's. It's just so plain and round. And the rear end + taillights are hideous. This is the car I'm bashing btw...I have no beef with the LS2...I'd gladly put one in my car if possible.

I didn't really like them at first, but I was really only seeing the 04s which aren't great. The 05-06 grew on me and look pretty good. Nothing too fancy or anything, but i like it. Stock for stock, a S197 GT would not stand a chance. Stock for stock a 05-06 GTO and 03-04 Cobra is a lot closer. GTO 3725lbs 400hp, Cobra about 3650lbs., 390hp.

ive been looking to get rid of my car for a GTO before they possibly skyrocket.. Theres a black 04 5.7 at a local dealer here, i think they want 14-15k,, and im not paying that, i think ill locally sell my car and jew them down to 11k or so.. i want a ls2.. but a ls1 will work.

nah dude, i just like it because its a okay looking car, it has a corvette engine, 6 speed for fun, and has a nice leather luxurious interior with a nice soundsystem, everything you need in a car all in one place. people either LOVE the looks or HATE them, but i dont care, its beats a CTS in my eyes..
