Rice is
  • Putting something funtional on a car that would have no use for it. (ie: race wing on a geo metro.)
  • 4.5" fart can's on anything that isn't turboed.
  • Wide body kits with stock tires, wheels and suspension.
  • Overall extravagant crap all over a car, crappy body kits on cars that shouldn't even have aftermarket accessories. etc..
Not ONE piece of that Cobra is rice. It's a race built machine, no radio, no rear seats, no carpet or padding in the trunk. etc etc.

******' A, man. Spare me the definitions. I know what rice is.

I didn't say the Cobra R is rice. I said the front bumper and the wing look rice. Since it is functional and serves a purpose, it is not rice, but it still just looks rice to me.

I don't even give enough of a **** to get into an argument over this. I think it looks rice, never said it was indeed rice, but people can't seem to understand the differences between 'is' and 'looks'.

I'm not trying to argue with you Val.. But how can something "look" rice and by definition not "be" rice? lol... That's kind of an oxy-moron isn't it?

I know you're not trying to argue, hun. I just don't want it to get to that point. I don't know how I can explain my thoughts. I'll try to the best I can.

It just looks rice on that car, even though it isn't rice because it is functional.

It would be rice if it wasn't functional.

Therefore, the bumper and the spoiler just look rice. That doesn't mean they are rice, because they serve a purpose and aren't just stuck there for looks.

Kind of like if a guy would say "Man, that game looks fun!" And if another guy would say "No, it isn't fun, it just looks that way." Make any sense?

You know I love you, Evan.

My turn to join the discussion...

It cannot look "rice", if its functional.

People steal the style of that wing and put it on their slow *** car making it "rice".

The wing on the car came BEFORE ricers put that on cars.

Thus is CAN'T look rice, and some "Rice" looks functional.

I'm waiting for R3d to join this thread now.

Would love to have that. Face it, majority of us Mustang owners know what it is and know its potential but to a normal person or import driver it is some guy driving a Mustang that put a crazy body kit on it. Imagine the look on their faces when you let them have it. I bet they would never make fun of your car again...

lmfao, that is the most random question ever..

Yes, I do all the time. I wear flip-flop's during the summer so I just kick them off while I drive.

I know exactly what you mean, Val. I feel the same way about it. It's a badass car, don't get me wrong but there's something about it that makes it appear "ricey" although not "rice".

Anyone have a photo of a riced out Geo Metro? I would like to see that!

The old plymouth superbird comes to mind, it had a huge *** wing on it and a body kit on the front, but it stomped *** in doing so. Function > Form.

LOL. Can't say that I've ever tried that. I'm normally in sneakers or my huge steel toed boots.

True.. But how many people that own those actually drive them on the street? I think I would reserve that thing for track time if I had one.
