Toyota T100
Im looking at getting a T100 4wd... 3.4 v6, manual trans... tons of miles on it... had all regular maintenance done since it was new... So, anyone know anyone with a T100? My Tacoma is being bought back by toyota due to frame perforation from rust...a problem only found on the USA made Tacomas... The T100s were all built in Japan, and do not have the frame rust isses...

|
word...that is SICK!!! j/k
|
Didn't you buy a tacoma like...yesterday?
|
What the F ?
|
yeh the t-100 is good. some stronger components than the tacoma..a little worse on gas but not by much.
how much did toyota give you for your taco? |
I just ignore him.
|
To keep the thread on track, yes, I know 2 people who had T100's. Both of them are no longer running. :( But, those people didn't take care of them and didn't do regular maintenance, either.
Edit: And from what I know, neither one of them had frame rust issues. |

I got it! 1996 T100 SR5 extended cab, manual, shift on the fly 4wd, 3.4L...every single option available in 1996...ABS...air bags...power windows, locks, tinted windows, sliding rear glass, bedliner, running boards... cruise...you get the picture. Its got 186k miles on it and it runs like a top..oil is clean as hell...and barely any rust..the frame doesnt have hardly a peep of surface rust at all. Im stoked!!!

$6580 for a 1996 with 170,000 miles...non working air conditioning, warped rotors, runs shitty sort of... yup..toyota stands behind their shit hardcore...they are giving me 150% of kbb RETAIL value in EXCELLENT condition... no matter the actual condition.. Its no wonder toyota has so many loyal followers. |

You should have told me to buy five of them!
you can only do it once... and its not too late... go find a 95-2000 tacoma and if thetre is a hole on the frame from rust...you can get the same deal. I didnt do it on purpose though...I noticed the hole and then found out about the buyback program. |
There are 0 toyota trucks here that have no rust. They all have TONS of rust, like doors falling off rust.

buy one 1995-2000 model years only. as long as it runs and u can drive it to the dealership, it can be bought back for 150% kbb retail. |
For sure? Does it have to have a broken frame or just one hole?
Might actually do this as i can get enough money to buy one without selling my other truck first |
googled sick f350 to get a ricer one but i found this..

yeah this is a common problem on certain year toyota trucks. mine specifically has 0 frame rust. the only rust on the entire thing is a little spot on the tailgate.

it was less than the red one, and it will be a whole shitload less than the red one after it gets bought back. It has more miles... about 15k more... about the midlife for a well maintained toyota engine...this one was very well kept... records dating back to the beginning of the trucks life... the guy I bought it from has owned it for ten years and was sad to see it go. Its a very nice truck... 1 of only 141,500 approx. I think that's neat.

As long as you're happy I guess that's all that counts, lol! I s'pose you made out fairly well with the whole deal, especially with Yota buying the red one back.
I got fast covered...easy and fuel efficient covered...and light offroad/snow covered... theres no "lol" in the fact that I'm happy with the lineup. Diversified transportation...that was the goal...goal achieved. |
nice truck. :)
