ok...
1) Please Please Please tell me you didnt say that he only had a shortblock and told him to put in a long block....long block is the whole engine, shortblock is block and internals (no heads, cams, timing cover, accessories, etc), so your saying he should put some heads and cams on his car. next time make sure you have your terminology correct when your trying to argue with someone.

2) real times? last time i looked, 14 second quarter miles are still fast for a stock automatic v8. there are so many variables that come to play in times, tires, suspension, etc.

i ran a 13.9 completely stock. on 5-speed

3) you cannot compare a bike to a car..its like comparing apples to a potato.

when you start modding cars, anything can happen. i hate when threads turn into this because its always a stupid debate

this person is faster, that person is faster, i **** gold, you **** acid. its not a ******* dick measuring contest

BTW, my little 4.2L "huffy" puts out more power NA then your big bad GT does.
you cant assume that your 4.2l is gonna make more power than a v8. just because your rebuilding the shortblock doesnt mean your going to get much more power. your heads, cams, and fuel system all account for this.

when you get your engine together, and put it on a dyno, let us know, i would like to see it for i have never seen a 4.2L build.

Real power on a cobra 615RWHP, as of sunday, my buddies. REAL ENGINE WORK, STILL RESPECT FOR OTHER CARS
this is completely absurd. what in the hell is real power? 615hp is not a lot on a cobra. all it takes is a Kenne Bell blower and a fuel system, easily had for 5k and all you do is swap parts out for aftermarket that are easliy accessible.

if you wanna say real engine work, blah blah blah, state what he has done. built motor, p&p heads, cams, fuel, etc.

- Last I looked traction was an issue with me. Oh wait, it was.

Dyno proven results on a 4.2l are already out search around for them. And yes, there will be a sheet for mine as well, in about 5 weeks, I won't stick my car onto a dyno until after its got 1k miles on the motor.

Real engine work - Port/polished blower - new cam (don't know specs) internals , yes they had strong internals, but he had a rod go. and the list can continue. That Cobra had full boltons and put up over 400 to the wheels.

And yes I told him to swap out motors. His v8 is a baby compared to something like 600 cubic inches. His deal is "well i own a v8 i am gawd" my deal is "your just a GT, and will probably never see past the 12's without blowing your **** up"

And I never said NO v8 is competition. I'm saying TO THINK A V6 CANNOT PRODUCE POWER AND GOOD TIMES IS BEING STUPID

**** the picture thread i redirected his punkass to has 2 v8s that scream. 1 runs 6's the other 8's.

i have traction issues as well. i cant get my 13.7 down because of my 2.2 60' im easily trapping at 105-107 miles per hour.

Dyno proven results on a 4.2l are already out search around for them. And yes, there will be a sheet for mine as well, in about 5 weeks, I won't stick my car onto a dyno until after its got 1k miles on the motor.
you better stick that car on a dyno before you start to drive it. you MUST get a base map for the increased cubes. if you dont, you will end up burning something up. your stock tune is meant for 3.8l not 4.2l, and you would need to compensate for it

Real engine work - Port/polished blower - new cam (don't know specs) internals , yes they had strong internals, but he had a rod go. and the list can continue. That Cobra had full boltons and put up over 400 to the wheels.
not calling you out on the cobra, since i dont know what he specifically did to it, but a full bolt on cobra with a port would be well into the 475-500 hp range. just a lil fact.

ok, saying putting a long block in his car isnt the same as saying put a big block chevy in it. and this is just a rediculous statement. he can see past twelves without blowing anything up. put a supercharger on a gt and some slicks and you will see 11's with a good driver.

Justin @ VMP has provided me a base that should hold up. It will be monitored before its driven, but not tuned for performance until the break in period is finished. Jumping on a dyno and being that hard on the engine before everything seats well doesn't seem like a good idea.

I don't remember the exact details on what was done to the cobra, I know that there was quite a bit ported/polished, with a cam that would run better with the s/c.

Putting a s/c on a gt with slicks you can. And I was directing that statement toward stephen only.

you dont have to jump on it at all on a dyno. you can tune a car for anything. when my buddy had his 02 built with his procharger, they tuned it to go to 4000 with a 3500 rpm limit to break it in. its making upwards of 550 and spins aroudn 7800 rpms (its a monster)

and i know your directing statements towards steve, but making comments like you were were just absurd. we all know steve is an e-thug, and he isnt gonna change. you either ignore him (like you) or just look at his comments and laugh (like i do)

Good thing to know about the dyno, didn't know i could do that...think its possible to run on this base tune about..70 miles to the dyno? Lol

What I said I obviously wasn't clear on.

And generally, I laugh at him, but, it seems he has a new found immunity, and my tolerance for him is shot.

base tune to the dyno is fine, but i would not want to drive 1000 miles with the guessed canned tune. my tune on my car is super rich and i dont like it. i am getting tuned after school lets out.

What size shot are you running? 125 or 150? Is it a true shot? I mean..did you swap some jets on the dyno to actually get that power? Anyways, goodluck with it.

i like how this turned into a v6 vs v8 flame war, this is a forum, he posted "so you think your fast", the title itself pissed me off, (i do not like cocky people), so i simply came in and expressed my opinion, which is that the m112 install on a v6 is indeed original but it is not worth the hastle to me when other more efficient ways of making horsepower can be made. I restate that i say this because i went through it all before, modding my v6 for 6 years and i chose nitrous over the ladder.

SnTBakosFinest some of your comments are absolutely retarded: cobras looking like hondas, my friend's cobra is real because it has 600+rwhp, having this mod but not that mod adds inches to your dick, blah blah blah. Any car/motor can make horsepower it just depends on what you want to do with it. I chose to go crazy with my v6 back in the day, caring less about what it looked like or how loud it was, i just cared about making it fast, while with my cobra i decided not to go as nuts because i drive the car every day and perfer drivability and quietness of the stock exhaust, while still being able to take it to the track on the weekends for some fun.

I would say it amazes me, but it really doesn't, on how fast these threads get out of hand. When all is said and done, to each their own. There are plenty of fast 4cycl., V6s, and V8s out there. There will always be someone out their to hand you your *** no matter what you have under the hood. Sure there are easier ways of doing things, but people will do what they want. Some might have to learn the hard way, but it's their money and their time. Enough with the my built V6 will beat your V8. I will slap a supercharger on my V8 and eat your built V6. Who gives a ****. You guys don't even live close enough to actually race.

And back to the original poster. Good luck with the supercharger. Not a big fan of having to cut a hole in the hood, but have at it.

you guys are freakin hilarious, you kept me entertained laughing my *** off for like 30 mins here at work.

My 0.02:

You can have a 900hp ford fiesta that smokes audis, vettes, and the like, but at the end of the day you are still driving a fiesta.

I drive a V6 and wish it was fast but I take it for what it is. Its not the fastest, but it looks better than 90% of the stangs that i pull up to. and when a gt or cobra peels out and hauls *** just because a sweet looking 6er pulled up next to it, thats gotta say something. I would like to rebuild 4.2 nos and all that **** but i spend all my money on wing tsun classes and weed like a dumbass, but at least im honest about it. The 6er is paid off and me and the wifey just got a new malibu but when i get a new GT the V6 will still stay in the garage cause thats MY hoe

Sorry for the rant LOL

yeah and good luck on the m112 project dont let others make decisions for you do what you want.

Hah. You have no idea how old I am. Maybe it does make me a poser. I happen to like the cobra so I figured since I am putting the blower from the cobra onto the V6 I might as well call it that.

Im not doing this to please you, or anyone else. So seriously unless you have some contructive to say, STFU.

1: Going 'nuts' on ones car is a realitive statement, realitive to the person working on the car. I dont consider adding a blower going 'nuts'. Especially a blower that will cost roughly $2800 complete, even less like in my case if you find everything really cheap.

2. Yeah im not sure how this turned into a v6 vs v8 flame war.

3. You say that I am cocky, and that my thread title was cocky so you came in here to try and school me so to speak. You portray yourself as all knowing on what I should or should not do, or what is worth it or not on my V6 when all you ever did was put N02 on yours. So who is cocky now?

4. You keep citing reasons that doing this project arnt worth it, but those reasons are false. If you take the time to actually research it, you might just actually learn something.

5. One day I hope to own a cobra myself, but in the mean time im going to have fun doing what I want to do on MY V6.

Just some facts for you:

The eaton will not produce mass amounts of heat if the boost is kept low enough, about 7 PSI. Sure its not going to be AS effective if like I had a aftercooler.

Even with just 7 PSI the eaton will produce some decent numbers for the V6. Those who have already completed the swap have been getting anywhere from 250-330 depedning on their supporting mods. If you ask me that is pretty cost effecient. And thats on stock bottom ends, so far so good. There has only been one person to blow their motor with this setup, and that is ONLY because he was running meth and ran out.

That brings me to reliability ..... so far only minor issues have arrisen, nothing that doesnt not pop up with other blowers. That is, that I am aware of.

The hardest part of this swap? Pretty much finding everything for the swap. Which is not that hard because its all stock parts minus the upper intake which hell, SSM sells it. Well ok actually the hardest thing is installing the fuel pump lol.

So really I am glad for you, I am happy you never found the want to mod your V6. I am happy for you that you have a cobra now. But I dont give a **** what you have to say anymore because 99% of it is pure bullshit.

Ever think maybe I just want to learn something about my motor, or I just like working on it? Or just do something sort of unique? I guess not.

its not a mod until its installed. For example...I had MM 4bolt CC plates in a box in my garage... I didnt install them so they didnt get listed in my sig's mods list.

What the hell is everyone's problem?

Let GDP build a car how he wants to. Guess what? It's his car. If you want to put your input in go ahead and don't be an *******. Stop threadjacking.

MB has attracted so many retards.

GDP, good luck with the build. It will be unique.
